- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was married to an executive at a large company. We moved almost every year during our marriage. I had to constantly make sure our home looked at it's best before we placed it on the market. I would setup each room as a display to make it more inviting to potential buyers. I had a system down as to how to make the move go more smoothly. Since I had so much experience, and knew the stress that it created, I figured I could help others with my knowledge.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask to see their professional portfolio, and ask for references. I keep a list on my website for potential clients. Make sure you have a connection with the stager. It is a stressful time in your life when you list your home. You need someone who is sensitive to your needs, and can respect your questions and concerns. Make sure you also get your quote in writing. Nobody likes surprises! Your stager should work with you as a team, not against you!
