FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My goal is to help you stop wasting money on your yard and start enjoying it more. Consultations are always a flat $300—this is the first step for every project. From there, design retainers typically range from $800 for smaller projects to $2,500+ for larger or more complex designs. Once a final design is approved, installation pricing is based on a straightforward 25% margin, ensuring transparency and fairness. I strive to treat every client as I would a family member or neighbor and to make each project a win for everyone involved.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every project begins with a consultation—a chance for us to understand each other, dream a bit, and build trust. Whether you’re a DIY homeowner or looking for a complete landscape overhaul, the consultation includes a recorded presentation with detailed notes and recommendations specific to your property. From there, we move into the design phase, where I create a thoughtful, native-based plan tailored to your site conditions, lifestyle, and budget. Once the design is set, my team can handle sourcing and installation using ecologically sound methods that bring your landscape vision to life.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Before founding TX Natives, I spent 12 years as a marketing director, but landscaping has been a lifelong passion. I started working in yards when I was 10 and spent years designing and maintaining landscapes for friends and family before turning it into my full-time work. I now participate in Kelly Norris’s professional design cohorts and count Neil Sperry, one of Texas’s most respected horticulturists, as a mentor. This mix of business experience, lifelong hands-on practice, and professional mentorship shapes everything I do as an ecologically focused landscape designer.
