It is our hope that during tough economic times this practice is made as affordable as possible. Ashta Yoga focuses on offering private personal, partner, children, prenatal and group classes Ashtanga Yoga classes. The Ashtanga practice is a tried and true practice that for milliea has helped its practitioners realize optimum physical and mental health. Ashtanga is very different from the westernized yoga we have come to know. The Ashtanga Yoga Practice: 1. Regulates weight and tones the muscles 2. Relaxes the mind and body 3. Reduces anxiety and depression 4. Induces concentration and overall mental acumen 5. Teaches us how to live in healthy union within our community. Ashtanga yoga is an 8 limbed practice: 1. Movement 2 Breathing 3. Personal ethics 4. Social ethics 5. Sense withdrawal (detachment) 6. Meditation 7. Maintaining meditation 8. Contentment Ashta Yoga's approach to teaching is traditional. The students and teachers work together in such a way that the student comes to learn how to practice the 8 limbs in daily life. The goal is for the teacher to be less and less needed. The student will able to cultivate contentment anytime and anywhere with the breath, body and mind only. The Ashtanga practice coupled with Aryurveda (ancient science of health) and sacred texts may be used as a spiritual practice, a yoga class, spiritual healing, life coaching and more. Ashta Yoga does not outsource. I am the only teacher. I was taught under a sacred linage and studied and lived in India as well. Yoga is stilling the fluctuations of the mind Everything action should embody stability and ease in equal measure. Stability and ease result in physical and mindful balance of life. Ashtanga yoga gradually reduces all life obstacles by teaching right body and mind reactions to the suffering of life. Practice and all is coming. Hatha yoga for beginners and beyond. Of the many methods I’ve tried, this is by far the best type of therapy for me. The perfect blend of physical and mental strengthening I’ve been searching for. I will keep coming back. “Yoga is stilling the fluctuations of the mind” and boyyy does my mind fluctuate! I am very happy to have met Sarah and try her enriched yoga class. She is very kind and patient. She guilds you and helps you even when you’re a beginner like myself. I value the traditional aspect of taking Ashtanga Yoga in this setting as it truly opens up the full potential and healing of the body as a whole. I’ve had my second session/lesson and so much has already begun to change for me. I didn’t expect her to care and address the mental aspects of yoga. I expected to just get on a mat and start bending (tells you what my knowledge level is at this point :)) The care and though she puts in to help you address your overall health is exactly what a person needs. After all we are a mental and physical body. Quite relaxing and comfortable. She is so kind and generous with her knowledge. Whether you’ve begun in the past and stopped or you’ve never bent over to touch your toes (btw you will when she gets finished with you lol) she’s what you need. Be prepared to put in the work, you’ll feel energized and renewed in a different way-for sure. If your skeptical take her first session and you’ll see. You owe yourself the very best kind and body but you’ll have to get started at some point.

I LOVE one on one yoga sessions with Sarah. I previously practiced a little yoga but am very much a beginner. I had never done anything like a private or one on one yoga session before. I came to Sarah initially just wanting to strengthen my practice and insure that I was doing poses correctly to prevent injury. However after our first couple of classes, I realized there is so much more to yoga than just the physical aspect (asanas) that I found interesting, helpful, and wanted to learn more about. Specifically Sarah taught me more about how meditation and breath work in yoga really allow you to be more mindful in your day to day. I am the kind of person that has trouble focusing and tends to panic when stressful situations come up and this idea of mindfulness and staying present has really helped me to remain calm in those instances. I also like how Sarah does not believe in the idea that one size fits all. When I began sessions with her, she really honed in on what aspects of yoga would be good for ME to focus on based on my background while also keeping in mind what I wanted to learn and get out of our sessions. She is also very adaptable to changing the sessions around. During our sessions I also became more interested in the history of yoga overtime and she began implementing this into our sessions as well. I do my sessions at Sarah’s home and it is clean, comfortable, and calming. She is very helpful in teaching and correcting positions and is always mindful to show many modifications for me to choose from so that I am comfortable. Sarah also responded in less than an hour to my inquiry which I really appreciated. I realized quickly that other instructors I reached out to responded much slower and would send my inquiry out to another yoga instructor than the person I originally inquired about. This is not the case with Sarah. She does all of her sessions and is even available between lessons to call or text with questions. Great professionalism. Very worth it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    My prices tend to be above market value. This is because Ashtanga Yoga is a specialized sacred practice. There are 8 limbs to learn The postures are only one. Ashtanga is the highest quality yoga one can practice. In addition the goal is to learn to 8 limbs well enough the teacher is less and less needed. The Ashtanga practice becomes a way of life in which the student/practitioner will be able manifest peace at any moment once the practice has been commanded. Therefore long run a student will save money by no longer needing a teacher to practice.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    Upon meeting a new customer I asses the lifestyle of the student/customer in order to tailor a personal approach to the Ashtanga practice. I asses tools the student may or may not utilize to bring about mental and physical health, balance, stability and easeful practices. I can then determine what tools and approach I need to teach Ashtanga Yoga. From there I recommended and tailor an approach.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I am an ERYT 200 through the Yoga Alliance. I also studied under Sri Dharma Mittra's student. Mittra was taught in Mysore India. I also studied in India. I have practiced and taught for approximately over 10 years.
