- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As the Primary for Capitol Of Texas Contracting, I take pride in the work that we do. Originally, I went to school for Architecture. I decided to start my own Graphics business and after a number of years, decided to fall back on the Architectural side of my training and do some remodeling. Later on the Insurance business, particularly the disaster/mitigation industry, attracted my attention. I got licensed to Adjust in several states and did work for both Private Insurance Carriers and Homeland Security as a Disaster Housing inspector for about 7 years. Creating Capitol Of Texas Contracting was the next logical step; it is the Consumer's Contractor. We have partners licensed in all types of trades. We are ready to take on any of your remodeling and repair needs be they large or small. We love to help our customers understand the inner workings of remodeling; after our remodel, should they find themselves in need of this type of service again in the future, they will be more educated about Contracting.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Capitol Of Texas Contracting most commonly does work that allows us to make a property more valuable; we specialize in Bathrooms. We have spent a good deal of time early on making sure that our clients' properties have had holes repaired in walls, fresh paint when needed, repairing hydraulic door closers, flooring repairs, remodeling bathrooms, etc. Later, we re-focused largely on residential Bathrooms and Kitchens. The residential market has seen a recent boom in the sale of homes with the recent influx of buyers from out of state. They call us to help them with making their new home fit their lifestyle, or meet their dreams. A fair percentage of our work came through partnering with Home Depot as a certified vendor through their Principle Contracting organization to remodel bathrooms for their customers. As of late, we've concentrated on building our comercial business as well as partnering with several insurance providers and their vendors. We will also pursue more work in the public sector with status as a Vendor for the state of Texas. We will continue our transition from a purely residential contractor to mainly a commercial remodeling provider.
