Introduction: Coaching is my passion Coaching clients and seeing the transformation that happens for them is one of the most fulfilling parts of my life. I am wife, mother, student, artist, life coach, and a business owner. I know what it means to try to balance multiple hats while pursuing your passion and making your goals a reality. I am just like many of you Like many of you I am trying to build a career doing work that is important to me, be there for my kids, and still have a fulfilling relationship with my spouse. I know that it can be difficult to find balance between everyone's needs and still find time to take care of yourself. It can also be difficult to step into the unknown to pursue what is really important to you. I offer a coaching program that is tailored to fit you I prefer a solution focused approach to coaching that keeps us looking forward towards the clients goals, recognizes the skills they already have to succeed, and maximizes their potential to grow. Together we will identify simple steps that you can do immediately to start changing your life. We will be creative together in overcoming the obstacles that have been in your way. Angela is great. She is teaching myself and my significant other how to communicate better and really boil down to what's going on in our relationship. We have been using what she has recommended and we are feeling successful. During our meetings she has always been open minded and full of great advice. She doesn't hesitate to ask questions that need to be asked. Scheduling is super easy and the location is nice and very accessible. Highly recommended for individual or couples coaching.

In my Thumbtack request, consultation, and at the beginning of my coaching call, I mentioned a particular issue I really wanted to talk about. That request felt ignored (we didn't talk about it AT ALL), which was disappointing. She took the session over and had me go through a visualization activity that I a) had to ask the point of at the end, and b) didn't get much value out of because of where I am in my life journey. I was also surprised we didn't take the time to really set expectations and discuss what I wanted out of the coaching relationship and her expectations of me. I am not looking for a coach that runs the agenda - I personally don't think that holds the coachee accountable. To me, accountability is the most important thing that separates a therapist from a coach (this is based on my 5+ years of working for a personal coaching firm, being coached, and doing some StrengthsFinder coaching myself). To be fair, Angela did not know I had that much exposure to coaching and very specific expectations, AND she didn't ask, which is really my point. If you're reading this to get an idea if Angela is for you, here's what I would say based on my experience: if you are new to coaching and are looking for someone to guide you through the process, she's probably a good place to start! If you're like me and looking for more of a partnership, be VERY clear about that with her from the beginning. I can't say if she's a good or bad partner in crime because I did not have that experience. She seems very smart and confident, so I'm betting she could be. *Disclaimer: This review is based on one 30 minute consultation and one 1-hour coaching session, so take it for what it's worth.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $125 an hour for private coaching appointments. I do not accept insurance but I do offer a sliding scale fee application which provides a discount anywhere from 20% to 60% based on monthly income and family size. I provide teachers, police officers, fire fighters, veterans, and active duty military persons and their immediate family with a 20% discount regardless of their income as a way of giving back.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I generally do a free 20 minute phone consultation to get to know the client better and answer any questions they may have about my process. If we are a good fit then we schedule an appointment and go from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and I a masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling so that I can go further in helping my clients meet their goals. I have training in stress management and in solution focused work. I continue to educate myself and look for resources that I can use to assist my clients.
