Very knowledgeable and has a knack for teaching with no ego.May 9, 2020Verified
Excellent teacher -- significantly improved my playing -- jazz improv, voicing, rhythm, etc. Highly recommend TaylorJan 23, 2020Verified
Taylor is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. He's knowledgable, enthusiastic, and well versed in a wide variety of styles and approaches. He's a joy to work with. The only thing experienced pianists should know before signing up is that he only has an electronic keyboard for students to play on (albeit a very nice one). If you're comfortable with that you probably won't find anyone better but if you're like me and are looking to explore classical music with an ear towards the tonal properties of a piano, he might not be the right fit--and the only reason I didn't give five stars. I had several fantastic lessons and was genuinely sad to have to move on.Feb 3, 2019Verified
I've only had one lesson so I will update this going forward but he seems great!Feb 26, 2019Verified
Taylor is such a great teacher! He does a really good job of teaching the 'basics' while at the same time allowing you to choose the learning path you want to go down. I feel like I've learned an incredible amount, not just about piano technique, but about music theory and even song composition. Such a brilliant and enthusiastic guy - I would recommend 100%!Jul 16, 2018Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge $30 for a half-hour lesson, $40 for 45 minutes, or $50 for an hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? At our first lesson, I sit down with the client and ask them what they're musical goals are (what skills do they want to obtain, what music genres they wish to master, etc). We then map out a plan for how I will help them reach those goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I obtained a bachelor's degree in Music from Brigham Young University. I have played the piano since 1996, as a soloist, accompanist, and with different groups, including Brigham Young University's Jazz Ensemble. I have performed and entertained in many different venues and locations across the United States.
