FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up in a salon. I did hair for a little while but wasn't in love with that profession. I'm a natural artist. My main goal in life was to be an artist. Painting, sculpting, designing, etc. I have an eye. I was a young mother and did what I needed to do to provide for my children so business management called my name. After many years of business I was not happy. I imagined being somewhere else in life by then and decided I needed to love what I did not just work to live. Friends had always asked me to cut their hair, color and treat it. Do their makeup for special occasions. It sparked that passion in me again. I worked for a company that mentored me as an artist. After a year of preparation I am proud to have the title "Certified Artist". It has been so fulfilling the past 3 yrs that I can yell outloud....I LOVE MY JOB!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Bridal, photo shoots, special occasion makeup. I have also done Halloween looks (these are really fun).
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Trust your gut. Know that our profession is competitive. We work hard as business owners to stay at a reasonable prices and keep our good names. Lower prices can persuade you to work with an artist with less experience. There are artist that are naturals and can do beautiful work but may not know how to work your best features. Ask questions. Look at pictures of their work. This will make your decision making right for you.
