I've been working with Chris since about February/March of 2015. When I first started out, I was pretty much a skinny-fat slob: 220lbs, no strength to speak of, very low motivation to get fit. I also had this aversion to working out in gyms and dealing with trainers. Call it a clash of personalities, but I just could never dedicate myself to working out with a lot of the meatheads at gyms. When I started working with Chris, I noticed right away that we were on the same page about a lot of things. His vision for my progress and my personal fitness goals certainly meshed, but most importantly so too did our tastes in music. We both share an unyielding passion for metal, and being able to talk shop in between sets of getting my ass kicked made getting through my sessions so much easier. In no time at all, I found myself making great gains and looking forward to each of my sessions. Chris put me on a great regimen, starting off with lots of core training and cardio to burn fat, and slowly worked our way to strength training. I soon found myself doing lifts that I never thought I'd be able to do in my lifetime. Flash forward to the present and I've lost over 30 pounds, gained strength I never knew I had, and feel more confident than I ever have in my life. Chris is a great professional, but he also truly cares about you as an individual. You can always tell that he genuinely wants you to succeed in your goals, and I can't even begin to tell you how much that will help your motivation. I can't recommend Chris enough. If you're looking to change your life and get a helluva a lot stronger, Chris is your guy.
If you are looking to get started on a workout routine, focus on your current one or move to the next level you should consider training with Jason Wright. I began my training with Jason two months ago and am already seeing the results I want. He is always there to push you hard enough to get you where you want to be. Most importantly, Jason will make your workouts fun by varying up your routine, so your workouts never get dull and boring. I would recommend Jason to anyone looking to get results on their personal training goals. He is an amazing personal trainer who is passionate, patient, focused, attentive & will give you the results you want/need!
Jeff replied very quickly to my search. I like that he gave a break down of his style of training, which includes nutrition and his intro package definitely caught my attention. He gave me a link to his own website and along with checking out his instagram videos and fb links, it really helped me determine that this trainer was for me. He is very flexible as far as availability goes and definitely challenging! If you are bored with traditional style weight training or just want to try something different and feel like you're getting your cardio in with weight training, or if you're like all of the above and need accountability! He will be there waiting for you! I have only had a few sessions with him but the amount of work I have done with him in an hr makes me feel like I've been training with him for months. I like the fact that he has his own personal studio, you really get the one on one training without an audience. He's very easy going, makes training fun and really takes into account what your personal goals are. I look forward to continuing my training with him and am excited to see the results! By the way, he's just as friendly as he looks :) He won't yell at you or intimidate you!
I've been training with Jesse for a little over a year and I'm stronger and healthier than I've ever been. Prior to Jesse, I was a crossfitter and injured my lower back (sciatica) from the massive weight I was lifting without strengthening my core. After working with a physical therapist, I left crossfit and began training with Jesse. I've done High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), weight training and cardio with Jesse. Unlike CF, Jesse gradually worked me up to a maximum load (weight), without injuring my IT band nor my lower back. Jesse also combines diet along with the workouts. He will tweak your eating habits and stresses calorie intake. I enjoy the workouts because everyday is a challenge, and with Jesse's knowledge of fitness/nutrition, there's no telling how far I can go.
William Roman, trained me for 8 months and took me from 235 pounds to 195 pounds. The end goal was to compete in my first ever amateur boxing match. With my cardio at a great place and being strong and lean, I won by TKO in the first round. I couldn't have done it without Will!
Derek came out to our football trainings, which I was only able to attend once a week. And he kicked my butt hard! I signed on to work with Jennifer after having seen some pictures of myself at our mutual friend's wedding. Needless to say, the pictures were very telling of the weight I had slowly gained. My unhealthy lifestyle really snuck up on me, and I didn't know where to start when it came to developing a long term plan to become healthy again. When approaching Jennifer about her training program, I was nervous and hesitant. I knew nothing about 'routine' fitness and was embarrassed to admit I needed help. She was understanding, sympathetic and totally non-judgmental, which made me all the more eager to begin working with her. What I ended up finding out is that fitness and a healthy meal plan doesn't have to be a diet...it's a lifestyle, and it's a slow process. Jennifer helped me realize this, and with her help, I finally had the tools that were necessary in order to be a better, healthier version of me. Working with her was eye-opening, fun and not at all intimidating..and I will use the work-outs and meal plans she gave me for years to come!

Chris is an excellent personal trainer and motivator. He understands the importance of having basic fundamental strength before moving on to tackle his clients' general fitness goals. He is really good at pushing fitness limits just enough to see results without causing injuries. He focuses on and teaches good lifting techniques. Chris understands the athlete diet and is able to easily explain good eating habits as well. My personal goals were to get toned and burn fat, and he was able to help me do that without "bulking me up." I saw really great results, and it was a really good fitness and diet education for me. It was definitely a positive experience. I have worked with other personal trainers and Chris is one of the best educated trainers by far.
Mark is passionate about fitness and it shows through the vast knowledge of nutrition and the enthusiasm he brings to every session. He's funny, fun to work with and makes each workout challenging. Sara is an awesome trainer! She really helps you focus on the whole aspect of getting healthy- nutrition as well as cardio and strength training. With her help I lost 40+ pounds and am in the best shape I've been in since college. I highly recommend her as a trainer!
Previous condition: Feeling tired, stressed, and overall in poor shape Motivation to change: I wanted to feel less back pain, and stress.. Since I started training I have not had any back issues, sleeping better, and feel much better about my overall health. I wanted to change my lifestyle so I can live longer and Howard was a key part of the steps needed to make these changes manageable. Obstacles: I love to eat good food, and drink good wine. Most days the motivation to get up was only knowing Howard was there to pull me through those first few months; otherwise, I would not have continued. Overcoming obstacles: Knowing I was seeing Howard a few times each week was a motivator to now waste mine or his time. I wanted to feel better and Howard gave me the steps I needed to take to reach my objective. Current health: Excellent - I am in the best shape I have been since I was a kid. I have been working with Chris for 3 months and I have lost 25 pounds, and my back pain has gone away. Chris helped me to set my goals and showed me how important weight training, cardio, and nutrition are to reaching my goals. The training I've received from Mix It Up has been so beneficial is many ways. The training is practical - something that I greatly appreciate, as my time and efforts are valuable, but also because the techniques are explained and make sense and are therefore easier to pick up, regardless of your fitness or coordination level. I know some people that think they have to "get in shape" before joining a gym or training program. Usually because their previous class experience was with a huge group of people and only one instructor that never gave them any feedback or helped them during class. That's not the case at Mix It Up! All of the training is done from a ground-up approach, and start with the basics, so ANYONE can do it!! They also offer more advanced classes and take a personal interest in your progress, making sure you are getting the training you need at the right time. I've seen the owners, Chris and Jennifer Coble, take time to talk with each person that walks through the door - finding out what they're interested in and making tailored suggestions for each person. The classes include a lot of one-on-one training within a comfortable group setting, so I always feel like I'm getting good feedback and personalized instruction. I've met and made a lot of friends through the MIU center and always look forward to classes; which vary from low-impact Pilates to Bootcamp, boxing and self-defense. The positive, family-friendly environment isn't at all what I expected from a mixed martial arts place (I was thinking Rocky & raw-eggs or Mr. Miyagi or something)! But MIU offers such a broad range of classes and personal training, there really is something for everyone from senior citizens to professional athletes...and all of US in between! It's neat to see parents and their kids working out in the same place and the instructors help encourage the camaraderie. The Krav Maga training I've received has had a lot of positive influence on my daily life - the conditioning increases your body awareness and general movement, and the cardio aspect is great! Having no previous knowledge of any martial arts or self-defense, I was pleasantly surprised to find how rewarding the classes are - not because I perform well, but because I performed at all! It's empowering to try something new and to test your limits a little bit, especially b/c you almost always find out you can do much more than you thought! And while I hope to never find myself in a situation where Krav Maga training or self-defense is necessary, it's a nice feeling to know you've just spent an hour going through a great total-body workout...that might also one day save your life."

He has all the qualities needed for a successful personal trainer: he is personable, knowledgeable, experienced and knows how to motivate you to do your best and go beyond your comfort level to achieve your goals. His personal training in the water includes swimming drills, diving skills, corrections and proper form. He also has expertise in core conditioning, strength training and cardio exercises.
