It was our first time at Smoke and the food and service was exceptional. On the down side I know it was a Saturday night and they were busy but the man walking around claiming to be a manager was very unwelcoming. He approached us as if we just sat ourselves. He made us very uncomfortable and feel unwelcomed. The waitress and waiter were on top of everything and apologized when I told them about our experience. I was told his name is Jesse so please address this to him and consider hiring experienced Management with customer service skills.

I've eaten here 6 times and the food has been on point every time. 8 dollar lunch special you cant beat it.

Overall food was very good and wait staff was attentive and provided great service. Hostess on the other hand had a bad attitude towards my party of 2 and also other small parties waiting to be seated along with a bad attitude towards her own coworkers from what was visible out in the open. She was either new or just ready to go home for the night. Will probably return for the food.

I was down in the sunset station area with a group of friends and we decided to try out Smoke, upon our arrival we witnessed a man coming out of the restaurant having a absolute complete meltdown, throwing a temper tantrum. Come to find out it was the owner and his was yelling and cursing out employee's on the sidewalk outside of the establishment. It was so loud that tourists and patrons inside the restaurant turned to look outside to see what was going on. I couldn't believe the lack of professionalism and disrespect. It was at that point that we decided to keep walking and go to another establishment. As a local guide I decided to investigate the matter more and feel it important to share this info to others who are considering Smoke for their first time. The owner is Adrian Martinez and talking with others who have been here informed me that this is a common occurrence within the restaurant, making a scene in front of his customers, not being collected, and lack of self control. Others said it makes for an uncomfortable and grim dining experience. Buyer beware was the consensus.
