- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do your homework and check them out on the Internet, Does the company have many complaints with the BBB Better Business Bureau or only a couple resolved or none? Get Several Estimates and really look at the BEST VALUE not the lowest estimate! Keep in mind - Unethical Contractors may provide low estimates to get a contract, then as the work begins so do the "Oops I missed this or that" and the Costly Change Orders start popping up, eventually costing more than the preferable Contractor. Ask questions: Do you pull permits? Are you able to provide detailed plans and designs? Are you licensed and Insured (ask for proof)? Can you file what is needed to get my Home Owner Association Approval? Is the Contractor genuinely interested in your project taking time measuring, asking you questions maybe the others did not, offering details, facts, options, creative designs? Or is the representative pushy, giving a sales pitch, hurried? Remember YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
