I needed to replace the door a burglar destroyed to get into the house. Letting it go was not an option as it left me vulnerable. I posted my need to Thumbtack and Southern Belle popped up and started an online chat before 7:30 AM. I gave my circumstances and they understood and dispatched within the hour. Picked up the replacement brought it to the house. Replaced the door AND frame, also corrected all of the shortcuts the builder took that were insufficient and restored the security system sensors to full functionality!!! Then Mr Kyle ensured the strength by driving long screws into the entire framework and hardware PLUS he did the same thing to my front door as an extra security measure. Very timely, professional, respectful, and was truly sympathetic to my misfortune. Excellent value for the materials and especially the craftsmanship. I'm going to have them screen in my patio next spring. Cannot go wrong with Southern Belle Customs. Thank you.

We hired Southern Bell Customs to pick up a sliding glass door we had ordered from Home Depot, to come and install it in our home, and to discard the old sliding glass door. They did the job, and they did it for a reasonable price, but had a few drawbacks that left us disappointed with their professionalism and customer service. Those are listed below for anyone interested in reading. First, while they were in the process of installing the door, they found that the previous door had gaps that had allowed critters to get between the sheetrock around the door frame. They assured me over and over that they would make sure the new door was 100% sealed off from the outside. However, we noticed later that they had left multiple gaps between the door and the frame (two that you can clearly see light coming through from outside). So we now have to finish filling in those gaps ourselves. Second, before they installed the door, I expressed my desire that they install the door loose enough that our four-year-old son would be able to slide it open and closed when he wants to go into the backyard to play [this is one of the main reasons we had bought this door in the first place - our prior door was very old, broken down and difficult to open]. They assured me they would install it so that our son could open it. However, after they finished, we noticed the door was tight, making it a little difficult to slide, and it turned out to be way too difficult for our son to open and close. They assured me that all sliding glass doors are tight when first installed and that it would loosen up after about a month. Well, after a month the door hadn't loosened up at all. So I reached back out to them and asked them to come back and fix it, and they informed me that they would charge more money to come back out. So instead I called the representative at Home Depot who had sold me the door to get his insight, and he informed me that one way to make the door easier to open/close is to adjust the wheel height by turning the screws found at the base of the door. I did that, and the door now opens and closes so easily! The Home Depot rep was so helpful over the phone, and we are disappointed that SBC was either unwilling to help without an additional fee or were unaware of how to fix our problem.
