I'm a bit dissatisfied with the overall work. 1.Rails hang past the top cap. 2.Railing on one side touches the patio where the other side has a 2in gap (proper way). 3.No tags were removed from lumber. 4. I had to call 3 times to ask for old material to be removed. 5.One step is now warped bc he only used 2 stringers where he removed 3 from the demo. 6. A good amount of nails were not hammered flush He's a nice guy but his work was meh esp for $800Oct 6, 2017VerifiedChris B.'s reply

The contractor, Chris Burten, henceforth to be referred to as Contractor, Began working on this project at his own volition. He was never told or expressed to that he was awarded the job or given any notice to begin work. After my electrician called me about his presence I reached out to Contractor to let him know “he was never hired”. Contractor then left and tried to charge me for the work he had done, instead I reached out to him again and gave him a list of work that he could do with prices attached in which he agreed. He then began work after prices and expectations were committed. Contractor was given a total of 1 week to complete work, 2 weeks later I cut him a check for work he suggested were finished or going to be finished. After the 3rd week of him working he verbally “quit” over the phone saying he couldn't do this anymore, he would continually do other tasks that were not previously agreed to, and expect extra payment for that work. After I told him I only pay for work completed and inspected on the arrangement we had he quit. The next day my assistant was walking the property with a (new contractor), only to find the back door wide open and the deadbolt unsecured and laying on the ground. Contractor had essentially broken into the home to “continue working” I then called police and filed a report. Contractor then proceeded to harass my assistant and myself over constant and aggressive messages, he then sent a message with a threat to my physical safety. A week later he shows up outside of the Brixton Project while I was showing the house to a potential client. I had to call the police and filed another report on him. After inspecting his work and compiling the amount “due” to him, it has been concluded that the poor quality of work did NOT meet customer expectations and the amount of material that was damaged and will need to be replaced/reworked exceeds the amount already paid to contractor.Nov 7, 2017VerifiedChris B.'s reply
Not only a THEIF, a LIAR! No threats at all, half of pics not my work, all acausations are lies, time line not even close, nothing stated close to the truth. As originally stated, all BEWARE! It is a real shame. Chris Burton 210-412-5718 for more info.
Needed a garage door opener installed and had the best pricing and availability for me. Was tedious and informative during process.Jun 4, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I'm fair! Either I price a specific job or we agree on an hourly rate, sometimes owners want more done once they get to know me and things can change.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?most importanly...we need to trust one another...rest assured you will be taken care of.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Of course I read alot...also studying for 2 TX state licenses.
