FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based on the level of detail the client requires. The more customization, the more labor and possible materials are involved. In most situations, there is usually no fee for an estimate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I strive to respond to client inquiries within one hour. I also appreciate reciprocal courtesy, and for the client to at least respond within 24 hours, whether or not we are moving forward. I like to speak with the client on the phone, and/or meet in person at the site to look at more details, including measurements, vision or "inspiration" photos, and to look at the general theme of the style of the home to make to project more complementary to the rest of the home. After that point, I will provide a written estimate and what it covers. Finally, after the client agrees to the terms, I provide a written "Scope of Work" that includes an approximate start date, materials, what work I will be doing, etc. That way, there are no surprises for both parties.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My woodworking education began in middle school wood shop and continued every year through the end of high school. I have been building items commercially for over 20 years, which has always provided on-the-job training for new techniques and problem-solving.
