Jason is a hell of a trainer. He is very knowledgeable about everything from strength training to kick boxing to martial arts. I've had the pleasure of being his client for over a year and did an amazing job helping me with everything. In addition, his knowledge of nutrition is amazing. He is determined, ambitious, and just down right fun to be around. I'd recommend anyone needing to get better or just starting out to take him on and he will make whatever you want happen.

Marcus is hands down a fantastic Martial arts instructor. In my twenty years studying Martial arts, I have been jumping from one style to another mostly because of the lack of professionalism of instructors. Marcus brings a high level of professionalism, knowledge and overall understand of how to convey information in ways appropriately tailored to each indvidual to the table. It is an honor to call him Sensei.....

The training I've received from Mix It Up has been so beneficial is many ways. The training is practical - something that I greatly appreciate, as my time and efforts are valuable, but also because the techniques are explained and make sense and are therefore easier to pick up, regardless of your fitness or coordination level. I know some people that think they have to "get in shape" before joining a gym or training program. Usually because their previous class experience was with a huge group of people and only one instructor that never gave them any feedback or helped them during class. That's not the case at Mix It Up! All of the training is done from a ground-up approach, and start with the basics, so ANYONE can do it!! They also offer more advanced classes and take a personal interest in your progress, making sure you are getting the training you need at the right time. I've seen the owners, Chris and Jennifer Coble, take time to talk with each person that walks through the door - finding out what they're interested in and making tailored suggestions for each person. The classes include a lot of one-on-one training within a comfortable group setting, so I always feel like I'm getting good feedback and personalized instruction. I've met and made a lot of friends through the MIU center and always look forward to classes; which vary from low-impact Pilates to Bootcamp, boxing and self-defense. The positive, family-friendly environment isn't at all what I expected from a mixed martial arts place (I was thinking Rocky & raw-eggs or Mr. Miyagi or something)! But MIU offers such a broad range of classes and personal training, there really is something for everyone from senior citizens to professional athletes...and all of US in between! It's neat to see parents and their kids working out in the same place and the instructors help encourage the camaraderie. The Krav Maga training I've received has had a lot of positive influence on my daily life - the conditioning increases your body awareness and general movement, and the cardio aspect is great! Having no previous knowledge of any martial arts or self-defense, I was pleasantly surprised to find how rewarding the classes are - not because I perform well, but because I performed at all! It's empowering to try something new and to test your limits a little bit, especially b/c you almost always find out you can do much more than you thought! And while I hope to never find myself in a situation where Krav Maga training or self-defense is necessary, it's a nice feeling to know you've just spent an hour going through a great total-body workout...that might also one day save your life."

Sensei DeValentino is an dynamic instructor in the Martial Arts. I was so fortunate to be under his tutelage in learning the art of karate and enjoying the physical workouts through the discipline of cardiokickboxing since the 1980's. He passionately taught each technique and guided us into perfecting the katas of karate by diligently practicing them on a regular basis. His cardiokickboxing classes were enthusiastically engaging and fun. We understood the meaning of commitment, perseverance, and determination as valuable assets for achieving our goals in life. Under his capable guidance we became more productive citizens thru our community service. Yes, Sensei DeValentino is a Master Instructor in the Art of Karate and in the Science of Cardiokickboxing.

not sure what to say: our son has become withdrawn, easily angered, impatient. I dont know if it is because of his age (13) and hormones, the games he plays (we took them from him because they were too violent) though he did sneak them back in. He does not want to spend time with the family or want to be involved with church anymore. All he wants to do is play his game system.
