I was a little reluctant, given my budget, to approach someone with a bio like Mr Smith had, but sent a message anyway to see what might happen. He literally called me back within 10 minutes of me pressing send and that was my first good impression. My "job" was simply to perform two or three songs at my mother's memorial service and I didn't want some average "friend" singer. From the start, he was professional in every way, helpful in every way, and sensitive in every way to what I wanted to accomplish through his music. He was there before the service an hour early to perform a sound check, he checked with me several times to see if he was aligning with what I had in mind, and his performance met every bit of my expectations and then some. I must have had 10 questions about where I found my soloist and all seemed impressed. My mother was one in a million and I couldn't be happier with the tribute we paid her and Mr Smith's contribution to our extremely important-to-us service. Give him a shout, you can't go wrong.

Dee sang for us at our Mother's Day reception at an assisted living facility. The audience loved him, and several people asked us to hire him again! We hope to do that.

Dee Smith was a complete professional. He checked in several hours before the event to confirm arrival time. He sang for two hours straight without a break and our guests loved him. He was a huge hit. I would definitely recommend him and will use him for future events.

My parents, their guests, and our family enjoyed the music Dee provided for their party SO MUCH! It’s a week later and people at the Bonaventure are still talking about it – particularly how wonderful the music was. Dee brought back many special memories for the whole group with excellent song selections and beautiful singing.
I am very pleased Dee was able to find music for my parents’ favorite songs – it added a personal note and really touched their hearts. The extra effort he went to in finding the music and rehearsing the special songs was really appreciated! I also admire how prepared and organized Dee was with his equipment – It was a quick set up and his attention to safety and access were terrific.
It was a very happy occasion for all of us. Dee really added to its specialness.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I deliver a quality show for less cost than many Bands or artists. Do you want lots of just OK musicians or singers , or one real pro quality entertainer?
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It starts with an email or phone call. I prefer a phone call. contact me via Thumbtack, provide your phone number or email, and I will get back to you. We will discus your preferences, such as program length. Please know that if your event is a long distance from Vancouver , Wa there may be an additional charge for travel. I have done shows as far away as South Padre Island Texas. But there has to be enough in the budget to cover transportation cost and time. Higher rates may apply for very long distance events. For ticketed concerts my fee will be a minimum charge or a percentage of the ticket sakes, whichever is greater. Please call for details.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied voice with private lessons. But I have learned more from experience. Singing is an art. Years of performances have taught me the skill to really communicate the feeling of the song, not just produce the correct notes.
