Daniel was an amazing guy to work with. He installed a tanning bed for one of our customers and he went above and beyond the scope of his initial request. at first he seemed like a fair man when he came to quote the price, but in the end I regret hiring him since he didn't complete the job exactly like he originally agreed to do. when I paid him in full when the job was apparently done he agreed to come back to add the missing parts for the same price he quoted me before I hired him for additional expenses ($3 per new picket when needed to replace my old ones as needed) but then changed his price later to be far above what we agreed on for the parts originally which of course I wouldn't pay since it was outrageous and immoral for him to not stick to the price we already agreed on before I even officially hired him for the parts that he predicted would need to be added since some were broken on the old fence (he failed to bring them on the day of work even though he knew in advance they would be needed, just 3 more). I even had to remind him to put screws into the wood to connect fence parts but he argued, acting like he never agreed to put screws into each of the old pickets where the new wood rails were added. it was obviously not an important job for him and he just rushed through it in a hasty way doing the bare minimum rebuilding of my fence to make it stand up. Anytime I mentioned screws were needed to attach all pickets to the new 2x4 rails he acted like I was asking to much, but I know in my heart after checking how contractors do build fences that he was in fact wrong to be skipping screws on the vast majority of my fence pickets. the root of the problem was his pride, this man needs to humble himself and respect his customer but he certainly doesn't, and I see he feels no guilt or shame for accepting all the cash I paid in good faith that he would return to finish the work. It all comes down to a petty $9 for 3 new pickets and a bundle of screws he didn't take the time to install when remodeling my old fence. It's the principle of the matter in a code of work ethics he and I don't share. I would recommend finding another contractor for your needs.
