When we used the kennel, Charley, The Beagle, would come home hoarse from barking, thin from weight loss, and with a little cough. Not to mention the anxiety. Now he is able to stay home. When we come home from a trip he is calm and happy. We're lucky to have found Amber and her team. Vet Tech Pet Sitting is awesome.

Suzie began by walking my dog Mike. When we began needing pet sitting, she then took care of him as well as my two kitties when we were out of town. Everyone has been better now that they are cared for at home rather than at a kennel or the vet. I am quite comfortable leaving the fur children in her care and don't worry to much about them. Besides, I get updates on my phone so I know what they are up to.

Beth has watched our beloved bunny while on a very long vacation. Our bunny was so well cared for; she had human interaction, was able to stay in her home environment, and we felt at ease while we were gone that bunny was in good hands. Beth took care of our bunny's food, litter, play time and even took out our trash can! The best part is that she texted us updates and pictures of our bunny so we could see her. I will always call Beth for when we are out of town (this weekend again!) and highly recommend her service for all pet owners. No need to worry about germs and stress from boarding or neighbors who forget and don't spend time with your pet. This is the way to go!

We've had a close friend as our dog/cat/house sitter for over 20 years and were a bit nervous about someone new, let alone someone we had never met! We contacted JaNeal (through Thumbtack) and arranged for a 'meet and greet' which was very reassuring. JaNeal also provided references and I had glowing feedback from both. She came again a day before we left to review detailed instructions on caring for our pets and home. During our vacation JaNeal provided updates, pictures and was readily available when we called/texted. Again, this was a first time so we probably over communicated, but she was very understanding! When we returned our house was as we left it and our animals were happy campers! We like to travel and having someone like JaNeal that we can trust with our home and pets is critical. We will definitely be using her in the future and are relieved we found her through Thumbtack!

Your dog has 24/7 care and we're customizable, private sitter out of our home.

If your dog needs a haircut, shave-down, or extra work on his undercoat, those are the days to book an appointment. We can schedule your groom ahead of time or when you drop off for boarding/daycare. If your pet just needs a thorough scrub-down after a long day of play, we can offer our basic bath and brush any day of the week. Our basic bath and brush includes shampoo, conditioner, blow-dry, brush and nail trim. We offer a selection of professional dog shampoos and conditioners that will thoroughly clean and refresh but won't irritate your dog's coat. If your dog has allergies or a sensitive coat, we can use your special shampoo on request.

I work from home so I am here to keep the animals company while I work. I am able to provide special medicine times, feeding times. I have a large yard fenced in. I can work to help socialize your animal.

I work very well with dogs and have one of my own who is an Australian Shepard mixed with a lab named Max. My roommate has a mini Australian Shepard named Lacey. I am willing to take your dog or dogs on as many walks as needed if he or she is a hyper breed. We all know that Aussie puppies have a never ending tank of energy so I am use to talking 2-3 walks a day. If your dog is used to a dog park, I can also take them there and stay as long as needed until their tank is empty. I love spending time with dogs so if your dog craves a lot of attention, that will be not a problem!

I am a caretaker for pets, as well as of people. I love to cook, clean, as well as have conversations. I have been a caretaker since I was 12 at home. I am available 24/7 most times, with no notice needed. I am very well organized and prompt.

I do what is expected of myself and will meet up with what is required. I will do my best, will not slack off, will not steal, and will be respectful of the customer.

I provide loving care for all animals and I completely understand the absenteeism of one's mommy or daddy when they have to leave on a trip. My husband's a truck driver and I use the service to watch my babies when I go on the road with him once in awhile

I will come to you to walk your dog(s). I also cat sit for people needing a good home for their cat to stay while they are away. I love all animals and will take excellent care of your special pet.

I am dedicated to helping our favorite furry friends.

I have over 30 years experience with a large range of animals on a daily basis. I am certified in animal cpr. We stay up to date on as much as we can learn. There is no cookie cutter plan for every dog or cat, they as different as snowflakes and we do our best to get to know them so we can keep them as happy and healthy as we can.

Hello. I enjoy animal care and currently have nice Yorkie dog. My hobby walking with humans' best friend. I am very responsible and reliable. Everything is negotiable and at reasonable price. Feel free to message me for more information. Thank you.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

    • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
    • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
      • 45-minute visit: $28.
      • 60-minute visit: $32.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
      • 12 hours: $100.
      • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
