I liked Garrett and his wife, Carly, very much and am only writing this as a cautionary tale for other home owners. I paid Garrett over 60% to quickly get started and do the following: 1. Remove junk from the house left by our tenants when they moved out. 2. Complete repairing stairs on our front porch and restain 3. Repairs on the stairs on the back porch and restain 4. Install kick plates on an exterior door 5. Rehang a set of closet doors inside 6. Other minor repairs to walls inside the home. Here is what was completed after 4 days and he's now unresponsive to voicemails and text: 1. Some junk has been removed 2. The front porch step is removed but the replacement is not installed (or anywhere to be seen), wood is strewn all across the front yard - parts of the front porch railing is sanded All of his tools are still in the house and I cannot get a hold of him to understand what the plan for completion is, if there are plans for completion. I have hired another contractor to complete the job.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My service fee can range from $75-$125 from each job. Than an hourly wage on top of that from $45-$80 an hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to cover as much of the problem as I can over the phone then break down my pricing. I quit doing hard bids. I do a service call/fee and diagnosing the issue, then an hourly price on top of that fee. But it all varies on the job that is at hand.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a licensed plumbing apprentice. I am a licensed and insured handyman in the state of Utah.
