We got 5 bids from contractors to finish our basement, and ultimately went with David's (Skala Enterprise) and we are glad we did. We had some ideas of what we wanted and David gave us some suggestions of other things to consider without being pushy, some of which we added. He also made it a point to stay within our budget.
David did the plans, permitting, and framing himself and subcontracted most of the rest. Even when the work was being done by subcontractors, David made it a point to show up almost every day work was being done to make sure it was being done well and answer any questions we had. He was always quick to respond when we called or texted with questions.
We will definitely call David again for future house projects.

David and his team did several petty big projects, including splitting a large room into two bedrooms, which involved demolition of some walls, building closets, electrical work, drywall, and painting. We're very happy with how the two rooms turned out. We also had a fairly large patio poured and some smaller projects within the house. All turned out well.
We had a few companies bid on the work. David's prices are competitive and the work is good quality. I never felt like he was trying to upsell me or find extra work--he just did his best to deliver what we needed. He was very responsive and involved throughout all the projects, and always took time to answer questions and respond to concerns. I would trust him and his team with remodeling projects in the future.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our typical process includes first quoting the general project via email, phone or text. We will then come to your home or place where the work needs to be done and evaluate the project in-person. We will agree upon a price, typically the same as the initial quote, then get to work! We guarantee that our work will be done efficiently and to your satisfaction!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked as a General Contractor in Europe for 20 years, running my own construction company and building and renovating hundreds of homes and businesses. I have been living in the United States for the last five years, also working in construction.
