About
I teach violin lessons for beginning to intermediate students. Lessons range from $15.00 for 1/2 hour lesson, to $30.00 for 1-hour lesson. Suzuki and traditional methods are taught. I work hard to prepare lessons tailored to each student, and in return, I expect each student to practice and do his best. Playing the violin can be challenging, but also very fun and rewarding. I prepare the students for a recital once a year, usually in the spring. This gives them the experience of performing and the confidence to share their talents.

My girl played piano but was a beginner at violin and had lessons with Tina and she improved a lot. Tina is a great violin teacher and she charges incredibly low tuition. Also she is willing to work with your schedule.

Tina is very organized and experienced. I was impressed with the follow up call the day of our appointment to ensure all of our email communication had been completely understood. I was also very happy with the experience Tina has teaching and her kindness to our son who is pretty shy. We are excited to continue with weekly lessons

We met with Tina last week after she said that our child would be a great candidate. We laid all our expectations out on the table and after meeting with us she scheduled lessons. I just received an email saying that she didn't think she would be a good instructor for my child and canceling, stating that she was sorry she couldn't help us. I understand if she doesn't think it would be a good fit, but meeting with us and scheduling and then sending an email days later is extremely unprofessional. Thankful we didn't end up going with her. Don't waste your time meeting with her.
Tina's Violin Lessons's reply
First: the purpose of a meet and greet is to get an overall feel and assessment of weather or not the student and myself are a good match. It is always a good idea for an instructor to give the choice made additional thought. As it is for the person looking into lessons. The role could have been reversed and you could have cancelled the lessons we set up. That is totally acceptable. I am sorry that the personal e-mail message was taken as offensive. Although I did meet with you and you and I did schedule lessons: After thinking on this for a few days I felt to decline lessons and offered suggestions of a group or other music development before taking private lessons. I feel that this was a very professional way to handle things. Once again, best regards.
