We are four children (Ages 4 - 10) with no previous lessons on the piano and a grandparent (10 years of piano lessons taken back in the dark ages) who supervises practice and tries to keep the ambient noise level at a dull roar. The lessons are all online using Zoom. Susan modifies the lessons - length and content- according to the maturity of each child. She has a positive, encouraging attitude and, so far, the children look forward to the lessons. The music is affordable and easily obtained online. She has been extremely accommodating and flexible with our schedule.Aug 17, 2020VerifiedSusan Schreiner's reply
Thank you Catherine!
Susan taught both of my oldest children piano. She was very patient and kind. Both kids looked forward to their lessons and made great progress each week.Jul 22, 2020Susan Schreiner's reply
Thank you Jenn!
Susan taught 4 of my children piano. Ages ranging from 5 to 11. She used lessons that fit each child's needs and helped keep them excited about piano. I loved that she helped them prepare to play in front of others. Overall, a very good experience for our family.Jun 29, 2020Susan Schreiner's reply

I have known Susan for two years. She is a fine violinist with whom I have recently performed and who displays beautiful technique and outstanding musicianship. As a music minor, as a BYU Symphony concertmaster, and as a 4 year member of Iowa All-State orchestra she is highly prepared, kind, and compassionate. She has also played piano since childhood and has taught students on both instruments for many years. Susan has the qualifications to encourage and promote successful musicians. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The first lesson is free. You can meet with me in person at my home or via video conferencing. We will establish what level you are at, play some music, and introduce some things I like students to work on.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a minor in music from Brigham Young University. I have played violin for 41 years and piano for 43 years. I was in the Iowa All State Orchestra for 4 years.
