Paul was very great to work with, profession and polite. He was there when we needed him to come to meetings or answer our many, many questions. He was also the perfect liaison with our new home build between the sales rep, superintendent, and us. He was always communicating with us if he’d be in meetings or out of town. We had a long time to work with him between selling our condo at the beginning of Feb 2016 through to our building process finally ending in the beginning of Oct 2016. Throughout all of those months he stayed in contact and always asked how we were doing and if we needed anything. We don’t plan on moving any time soon but if we do, we’d definitely work with him again and recommend him to friends and family. You can tell he really cares about his clients and what they are going through. It was nice feeling like we had someone on our side vs just another paycheck.

In one week, my husband and I found a perfect home (large yard, garage, no HOA) in our price range (which was extremely limited—we’re newlyweds and first-time buyers) in Lehi (far from Paul’s office in Salt Lake City) and put in an offer that won the house—all thanks to Paul. He was as dedicated to our home search as we were, rearranging his schedule at the drop of a hat several days in a row so he could show us houses new to the market (he even took us on the weekend!). He offered great advice about choosing and maintaining a home—I especially loved that he is in our same stage of life and really saw things from our perspective. His team handled all of the paperwork perfectly, and we never felt confused or overwhelmed during the process. We had one hiccup in our home-hunting process—he got locked out of his office, and we got locked out with him. But from what I understand about trying purchase a home these days, the fact that this minor incident was the only bump in the road is next to miraculous. My bottom line: when we move out of this starter home in five years or so, I’ll definitely call Paul again.

I had the pleasure of working with Paul Montgomery this summer. He helped my parents buy a home. He was wonderful to work with and was very patient with my mom, who kept changing her mind about what she wanted! My dad also has trouble walking and Paul arranged for documents to be signed at their home. That was awesome! It saved me travel time but most importantly it made it easier on my Dad, who has trouble traveling long distances. Ultimately, they bought a beautiful home about five minutes from family. Paul even made sure they got a home warranty with closing, which they had not expected. It was a good experience for all of us. I will look up Paul if we ever buy another home.

As a first time seller, I wasn't sure what to expect from the process of selling my home, all I knew was that the market was high and I needed to cash in. I went through the process of evaluating different real estate agents and Paul differentiated himself within the first email that he replied back to with his due diligence and customer service. I required each agent to answer a list of questions and to provide a CMA. Not only did Paul do all of those things he also noticed discrepancies with my property tax records through his evaluation process. This helped alleviate potential issues during the negotiation process. After meeting Paul, I cancelled all other appointments that I had, as I know I found the right guy. Paul is a man of integrity, and that came through within the first meeting. Paul was honest with me in what he thought I should change prior to listing, which lead to potential buyers being happy during the open house. Paul also let me know what the sellers expenses were going to be prior to signing a contract with him (which no other realtor did). Additionally, Paul uses a series of analytical tools to help ensure that I listed my house at the right price. He used metrics like price per square foot, absorption rate, etc. to ensure objectivity through the process. Let me say that NO OTHER REALTOR GAVE ME THIS DATA. He is truly a modern day realtor for the millennial generation. I wasn't always peach to deal with as it seemed issues kept arising from things that Paul and I didn't have control over (like a buyer who backed out, a stop and waste valve rupture during negotiations, and a direct neighbor who listed his house under market value). Through every issue, Paul was always there to keep me level headed, always talked to me with a solution in mind, and never got too high or too low through the process. In the end, I walked away with $5,000 over asking price and buyers who were happy with the transaction. Paul will be my agent for life, particularly with his in-depth knowledge of real-estate investing (which I hope to mine in the future). Out of every agent I dealt with, had conversations with, or had meetings with, Paul clearly was the top of the class. Don't believe me? Try meeting him. Nic Hensley

Paul did an amazing job with helping me find my first house. As a first time home buyer I was really scared and worried about my decision making but he was able to help me through so much and helped in finding me an amazing place. I really recommend him as he is an amazing person also an amazing real estate professional.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The general pricing to cover both agent's commissions is 6% when selling, (3% to Selling Agent, & 3% offered to Buyer's Agent). If you're buying & because your Buying agents commission is covered by the Seller in a transaction, you want to be sure that you have representation you can trust to get the job done.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To first cover introductions and get to know each other. It's nice to know who you're going to be working with over the next 1-3 months on both accounts. I then dive into what you're wanting to accomplish and begin to educate & let you know what's possible.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Besides my license, I also keep up on real estate continued education classes monthly as laws, technology, the market, & systems are always changing. Nice to have someone who is up to date in this business.
