Introduction: I would say the biggest thing that sets us apart from other personal training companies is our focus. We focus heavily on the mental side of the things. Eric Thomas said "You are where you are because of who you are and if you want something different something has to change." Unfortunately when most people decide to lose weight they think they can live the same life and just start working out and eating a little better. This doesn't work. If you are going to have long lasting results, you need to elevate and grow, you need to change and develop new habits. The current you must cease to exist and be replace with a new version of you. Our focus is helping guide you into transforming into that "Ideal" version of yourself that you have mapped out. Watching people develop self confidence and take control of their lives. I love it when someone discovers their purpose in life and they go after it with an intensity they have never known before and had once known and since forgotten!

How do you possibly describe your time with Phil in a tiny box? I could do it in a word or two, but I really feel that he deserves more than that for the way that he helped me! Not only physically (he really kicked my butt... HARD!) but he also helped me out mentally and emotionally. He helped me realize how much control I really had over my thoughts and then helped remove the proverbial stick I was using to beat myself for stupid things I had done or wasn't achieving at that moment. His company The Personal Best Club was a God-sent gift to me! I got my parents involved because honestly he cares not only about what he does, but about you and what you do and how you feel. Even after you aren't working directly with him anymore. I still share successes with him, because he was always there to really help me celebrate and helped me realize it is OKAY to pat yourself on the back and when I failed he helped me to see it as a lesson, not an end. He helped me immensely on my path to my personal best and became one of my truest friends along the way. 5 stars hardly covers the rating I would really give him.

When i started training with Phil I was an out of shape past my prime guy who's joints kept him from doing any significant workout. Over the next 12-18 months Phil got me in the best shape of my life and helped me stabilize my joints and learn a customized fitnes plan to maintain in the future. He is extremely knowledgeable and patient. Couldn't give a higher recommendation!

I have been training with Phil the last couple of years at The Gym at City Creek. It has taken a lot of patience & dedication on both our parts to keep me moving forward instead of staying in the mindset of when I first joined the gym? Depressed & over weight we started our journey together. Phil has taught me to be more patient with myself & is acutely aware of what I can & cannot do given my body type. He knows his stuff & will keep changing ones program either physically or nutritionly to help his client. THANK YOU PHIL you've been awesome.

He is awesome to work with. He knows how to help you reach your weight loss goals in a way that is effective to you. He also is good about helping you feel good about your self while on your weight loss journey. I highly recommend him as a personal trainer.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I try to read at least one book per month. I also go to seminars' and work shops whenever possible. Again I'm the head trainer at The Gym at City Creek and Station Park and work with some fantastic trainers. I am definitely not afraid to pick their brains as well.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Make sure you get the background of your trainer. I have the extraordinary opportunity to also be the head trainer at The Gym at City Creek and The Gym at Station Park and I get applications all the time from people wanting to work as trainers without being a certified trainer. Make sure your trainer has been properly educated. Also make sure that you feel 100% comfortable with the trainer. In order to have success you will need to open up about some personal feelings. This is much harder to do if you don't feel comfortable with the Trainer.
