Introduction: At "The Crazy Dane Academy", we believe in custom canine education. Whether that be private lessons a couple times a week, or one of our more immersive "workshops"*. The way we've taught children has evolved, why hasn't the way we TEACH our canine companions. I'm here to help you pave the way to a more trusting and fulfilling relationship with your canine companion. Every dog is different, so is every lesson plan!

I got a rootle (rottweiler/standard poodle; Egbert) for my first solo dog, hoping to use him as a support animal. He is stubborn and strong-willed, and before training, he didn't listen to positive OR negative reinforcement and ate anything and everything he could when I'd turn my back. We began working with Peyton when they worked for Petco when Egbert was around eight weeks old. I had taught him the foundations, and despite the beginner-level class, Peyton was diligent in tailoring a training plan for him. Once they left Petco, we started with The Crazy Dane Academy as soon as they had it up and running. The experience with Peyton was nothing short of exceptional! They came to our home to train in a place my dog was comfortable, would focus on issues we needed for our goals, and gave us a lot of structure which my working dog thrived on. Peyton is also so kind and compassionate; when I mentioned that I was overwhelmed and unaware of how to groom Egbert's feet, they took the time to show me what to do and then trimmed them for us. Another plus is that they focus on positive reinforcement training. They don't require or promote using an e-collar, which is almost impossible to find in the Salt Lake Valley for private training companies. After the 45-minute sessions, Egbert would be pooped, which is always nice when dealing with a puppy! I saw significant changes in Egbert between when we started and ended our training at the end of June. I wouldn't have known how to push him farther than typical tricks if it weren't for Peyton and The Crazy Dane Acadamy. This company is a new gem in the SLC valley and is excellent for standard obedience up to dedicated support animal training. We love Peyton and the Crazy Dane Academy, and if we ever move back to Utah, we will be back in session with them!

Peyton has done wonders with my behaviorally challenged dog. With the training Peyton has provided she has made great strides in her fear of strangers. I will continue to work with Peyton and the Crazy Dane Academy.
