I had feared the worst when we discovered water damage to our building just as winter was approaching. Happily Michael Carosi really knows his business. He identified the source of the problem, described what was needed and why and emailed me a written proposal on the spot from his smartphone. It was the best price and most comprehensive quote that I had received. His crew was there the following morning. In less a week they had excavated to the building's foundation, repaired the concrete footing, lined the area with waterproof membrane, refilled the excavated trench and made improvements to the brickwork of the adjacent walkway. All the right preparation was done: security ironwork on a ground level window removed to enable the digging and then reinstalled undamaged; the window protected with plywood during the job; the trench reinforced and the area marked off with cones and tape to prevent mishap. At the end of every day the site was put in order and at the end of the job everything was cleaned to better than original condition. I was kept informed of the schedule by text. I also received the photos Mike and his crew took at each stage of the work. The crew was prompt, polite and well-managed. What a wonderful experience to have a job done by true professionals. This house is in one of D.C.'s historic districts. It was built in the 1880's. It was a relief to know this was a job well done. Next Spring Mike and his team will be back to level and repave the front steps.

The work was preformed as expected and is actually even nicer than I'd hoped. there was a delay because of DC not having the documents necessary to perform the permitting, but once that was settled Mike was out the next day and completed everything as expected. It looks so nice now.

We had Michael expand and lengthen our concrete driveway to triple it's original size. We also had him lay flagstone pavers on our front walkway, porch and side porch. Can't say enough about what a wonderful experience it was. Michael was responsive, prompt, courteous, and meticulous. Overall he and his crew did an outstanding job. And to top it all off, his prices were very fair! I will definitely use Michael again for future projects and have already recommended him to my neighbors. Very happy with his work!!! You can't go wrong hiring him.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was born into a family of masons. My mothers side of the family has the biggest precast concrete company in the area (Arban&Carosi). My Father taught my brothers and myself how to lay brick and stone before he taught us to drive. I have almost 20 years experience personally and my Father has been a mason for the better part of 50 years. We have always been a close family so working together has made us even closer.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
we just finished the main courtyard for West potomac high school in faifax county
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The most important piece of advice I can give a customer is to always speak your mind. That way I can make sure to meet all your needs and address any questions or concerns.
