- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing I do is to find out what you want to get out of your dance lessons. Are you a total beginner, or do you want take your dancing to the next level? Do you want something fun to do with your spouse or partner, or are you looking for a fun way to get more exercise and relieve stress? Do you want to be able to dance to a variety of songs at social events, nightclubs, weddings, etc., or do you want to learn a specific style of dancing, such as salsa or waltz, or swing or fox trot or tango, etc? Do you want to impress friends with your dance skills or meet new people and feel relaxed and confident asking someone to dance or accepting an invitation to dance. If you're getting ready for a wedding, do you want a "romantic, slow dance," or a fun, "show-stopper," for your First Dance, or a father/daughter, or mother/son dance, or do you just want to learn a few moves so you can do more than a dumb, "high school grab and sway"? One of the first steps is to help you "discover your rhythm" if you think you don't have any. Even if you think you "have two left feet" I can help you become a confident dancer. I'll help you learn to FEEL the music and move to the beat. Based on your abilities and goals, I suggest a program of dance lessons to help you achieve your goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I originally completed the Bronze, Silver and Gold level ballroom dance training at Arthur Murray in La Crosse, WI. Since that time I have continued to train in American and International style ballroom dancing, ballet, jazz, Argentine Tango and other dances. I seek out the best instructors I can find in the U.S., Argentina, Brazil, England, France and other places and pay up to $300 or more per lesson so I can always be on top of my game and changes in the dance world.
