FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am 30 years old and hold a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Marymount University in Arlington, VA. I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in International Affairs and hope eventually to land a position with the U.S. Foreign Service where I can combine both my love of travel and love of country. That said, I am still very much interested and enjoy at this point in my career the ability to apply my customer service and hospitality skills to provide quality service and maximize profits while also enhancing my appreciation and knowledge within the business community. Before returning to university to complete my undergraduate education and now proceeding with my graduate studies, I conducted online and open source research on the Muslim Brotherhood and the Muslim Students Association for John Guandolo, the Founder and President of Understanding The Threat. I also served as the Executive Assistant to the CEO of NBC Security, Inc. located in Great Falls, Virginia. I handled all corporate affairs including but not limited to, the creation of product and sales presentations and proposals, attended meetings on behalf of our company president, represented the company at domestic and international conferences, and handled all travel, communications and correspondence. Prior to that position, I served a tour with the U.S. Department of State in Juarez, Mexico. I worked in the American Citizen Services Department dealing primarily with Passports and Nationality, where I was required to be well versed in U.S. Citizenship, VISA, and Immigration Laws and Procedures. I formerly worked with the Iran Policy Committee as the Office Manager for this busy Washington, D.C. think tank. I worked as a Research Assistance to Katja Samuel, Barrister, University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, on the World Justice Project, A Multinational, Multi-Disciplinary Research/Publication Project to Strengthen the Rule of Law Framework for Countering Terrorism. Finally, I served as the Personal Assistant of former Ambassador and U.S. Army General Edward Rowny (Ret.). I handled all of his personal correspondence, his calendar and appointments, managed his expenses, and any other tasks requested by Ambassador Rowny. My international background has enriched my own experience and brings a multicultural perspective to my studies and work. I am an extremely organized, motivated individual with flexibility to handle personal and business scheduling, calendars, events, travel, correspondence and any other matters at hand. Growing up overseas in a Foreign Service family has enhanced my appreciation for diverse cultures, an appreciation that infuses all my professional endeavors. In particular, my excellent interpersonal communications skills, including fluency in the Spanish language and beginner level in the French language, bring to my studies and work a spicy global flavor.
