Counseling goals
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Therapeutic coaching is an alternative to traditional counselling. While the practitioner is equally as qualified (master's degree, doctorate, etc.), I combine the traditional tenets of counselling with a more hands-on work session where we collaborate and actively problem solve. At Old Town Psychoanalytics, we do not see clients as damaged or flawed and do not define unwanted experiences as symptoms or problems, but we resolve to define the function and context of behavior in order to determine its workability for the purposes of creating rich and meaningful lives. Our aim is to help you experience the fullness and vitality in life, which includes a wide spectrum of human experience, including the pain that inevitably goes with it. Emotional, personal, professional and relational flexibility are our main goals. We specialize in life coaching with a focus on the following: * Marriage and Couples Skill Building * Highly Individualized Therapy and Coaching * Cross Recommendations for Total Personal and Physical Growth * Mood Work * Anxiety Work * Project Management

It's easy to become disenfranchised with coaching or counseling services; for years I've seen one or another, all of them the same, not great, not horrible. At Capital Coaching Group - therapy is organic, no session is the same and so I'm told, no client is the same. Depending on my mood, issues from the week before, yada yada yada, my guidance on this given day corresponds to how I'm feeling and how my goals and objectives are coming along. I love it here, seriously.

Scott is absolutely outstanding! While certainly he's laid back, he's also brilliant. The way he instructs is easy to understand and he does indeed he a gift for knowing what's going on in your head.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I've had my own personal "ups and downs" and realized at a certain point that I was no longer in control of my days, weeks, months, or years...that I had become a passenger and had stopped being the driving force behind my life. I sought help from smarter people, began to better myself, re-energize, re-calculate, and re-asses. I studied and studied, published papers on Behavior, Social Psychology, had a few more "ups and downs" and have settled as a happy, fulfilled, successful husband and father. I never decided on this line of work, it was a necessity and, I share that passion, that need, these experiences with my clientele.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    1. It is my personal belief that any life coach that you will want to hire to take you from point a to point b will know the way without hesitation. This means that they have over come some great obstacles and were able to maintain a sunny disposition and have achieved many if not all their own goals. You don't want someone that is wondering in the wilderness just like you to try to show how to get where you want to be. I am a firm believer that you can not lead someone anywhere that you have not gone. Success comes to those that are seeking it. this means that the resume of a successful life coach does not showcase made how many people that have helped to achieve goals but it shows that they have achieved their own goals. A good life coach will be able to display a well balanced life and an inner peace. even in the face of hard times, the life coach is ready with their game face on and determined to shine in the process. 2. When you have a conversation with a life coach listen to the words they use. Ask them about their values, once listed watch to see if they are truly living out those values with conviction. Are they an authentic person. Are they experiencing success in their own lives. They may be able to fake it for a while but eventually you will see the real deal. Can they communicate ideas with ease. Is their conversation laced with success and it is realistic for everyday life. 3 Since a life coach designs their own workday are they able to set goals and achieve those goals. Do they say they will call but don't or call late. This is a sign of someone who is not in control of their destiny and will not be able to help you control your own. Do they seek to make the best of every situation and have a genuine positive outlook on even the worst situations. For example: When coffee is slipped on the table do they take the opportunity to instruct or scold. A true life coach wants everyone to succeed not just the client they are working with. When you fail are they there to comfort and keep you in push forward mode or do they take cover? 4 There are organizations that certify life coaches. Does the coach you are thinking of hiring, have a certificate. Not that this says they are the right one for you but someone that has taken steps to be held accountable are mostly likely doing it for the right reasons.
