I hired K and b improvements inc. to do a complete remodel of my kitchen in a 1954 home. The layout was original but we wanted to move some appliances around and take it down to the studs. John's crew was amazing, they were fast and efficient and did very good work. The price was competitive and the timeline was what we were looking for (max of 3 weeks). They completed the project in 2.5 weeks, which was amazing. They put up plastic sheeting and secured it to the walls so that the demo work didn't get everywhere in the house and they cleaned up after themselves every day. In addition to moving appliances around (which involved gas lines moving), they knocked out 1/2 a wall and created a bar area installing a island hood and pendant lights, which is a focal point now for the kitchen. The finished product is spectacular and everyone is asking us who did it! We are already planning to have them work on another part of the house soon.

These guys are great! They have helped out numerous clients of mine in the past. A couple of years ago Suki did a gut renovation of a DC rowhome for which I was the listing agent. The feedback from all who came through was overwhelmingly positive. Give them a shot you won't be disappointed.

K&B did my kitchen floor installation within a day of posting for a very good price. They were very knowledgeable and gave suggestions to improve the project. They also tried to make it easy for by doing things not necessarily in the original contract (e.g going to pick up materials from the store). They did an excellent job and cleaned up. Finally, they were courteous. I am hoping to work with them in future.

Hired on Thumbtack

Hired on Thumbtack

I solicited a tiling job for a 133 sq ft project. Kitchen and Bath (KB) were one of the companies that responded. They provided a reasonable estimate and asked when they could start. When I told them that I was seeking multiple estimates before starting the project, they responded that they understood the project to be bigger than what was provided in Thumbtack (because Thumbtack allows for ranges), and that they could bring down the price. They showed me pictures of prior projects, and I was impressed with them. They appeared to do good work, and seemed like nice guys. After receiving multiple estimates, I decided to hire KB since they appeared to provide the most “bang for the buck.” I reached out to them to ask if they were still interested in the job. They replied that they were but then doubled the price after I told them that I liked their work. At first, I thought they were confused as to who I was, and I then tried to remind them about who I was. They told me that the new price was “way much lower than regular price we charge for other jobs.” They responded by asking how much money I had. I was taken aback by the fact that I was being propositioned for my money. In one last attempt to figure out if KB was mistaken, I attempted to remind them who I was, and politely pointed out to them that they were doubling their estimate. They refused to respond. I would not normally take the time to write a bad review, but I use Thumbtack quite frequently and appreciate both the positive and negative reviews that others leave to draw positive attention to, or warn of, potential contractors. In this case, I felt my experience with KB warranted writing a review. They seemed like good people, and I would have gladly tried to sort this out with them, but when they don’t even bother to respond to you, what can you conclude? I would be weary of hiring these guys since integrity appears to be an issue.

Hello Jon. We are really sorry for the matter happened. We know that we can do nothing to correct our bad. But those guys who represented at meeting with you sir, are our installation guys and they are not responsible for communication. I usually handles client relationship and appointments. Unfortunately I was away that time and asked our guys to meet some of our clients including you sir. We well noted your comments and will further exercise punctuality and integrity in our business.
