Great working with Frankie. He was able to quickly respond to an issue with the garbage disposal and come and diagnose an issue with the water heater on very short notice. Unfortunately, the water heater was special order so we weren't able to close that deal but he was able to do the garbage disposal for us.
Rick did a great job replacing our water heater. Great communication and quality work at a reasonable price. I'll definitely think of Palmyra Lawn and Gutterworks when my next project comes along.
I hired John Walton to install a new kitchen for me, which involved, among the usual carpentry work, the completion of some minor plumbing (hooking up dishwasher, garbage disposal, water line to refrigerator, etc.) and electrical work. He installed electrical fixtures such as outlets, switches and light fixtures, ran dedicated circuits, and installed lights. Even with tall ceilings and plaster walls, all this was not a problem and he did the work neatly and professionally. He was truly a pleasure to work with. I appreciated his reliability and accessibility - every time I had a question or concern he responded within 5 minutes. He was easy to work with in terms of changes and modifications (there were quite a few) and we worked it all out equitably. The quality of his work was superb with no mishaps along the way. I have done about a dozen rehabs in another state and can honestly say John ranks up there with the best of the best. Along with the high quality of his work, I most appreciated his pleasant demeanor, his reliability, his knowledge and execution of the work to be done, his timeliness, flexibility in working with our schedule, and the fair price for which he did all the work. I will definitely be calling him again!
I originally hired Kevin Williams in June 2011 to remove an old shed and and all of the building materials and debris my husband left behind when he moved out. Not only were his rates reasonable but he worked so fast and did a great job that I hired him to do all of the things I wanted done to transform my house into my home. He painted a couple of rooms, put up porch rails, a privacy fence, crown molding, replaced locks, replaced the front door and screen, put up porch light and flood light, replaced light fixtures, moved thermostat, replaced my hot water heater, cleaned gutters, dug up my broken cement walkway, landscaping, and on and on. Next he will be laying tiles on my kitchen floor and putting up a french door to my living room. Kevin took ownership of the project and with his creative input and excellent workmanship, my house is now my home. I consider Kevin to be Central Virginia's undiscovered gem.
I had called other plumbers who were referred by friends but they were not responsive and when they did show up they could t perform the job that day. Ricky contacted me right away and scheduled a visit the next day. He appraised my job and completed it quickly and professionally the same afternoon. I had a new gas dryer that required a new gas line installation and a new vent from an existing gas line in my laundry room. He also installed my washing machine. I will definitely call Ricky when my 2004 gas water heater kicks the bucket.
As a Realtor, I need to have an impeccable list of trusted contractors to recommend to my clients. I used Cogar Plumbing to replace a water heater in my personal home and was immensely pleased by his quick response, quality workmanship, and professional courtesy. Will recommend Cogar Plumbing to my clients for years to come, thanks!
Mike came out when he said he would, and fixed the problem at that time. Very impressed nice guy. I will be using him in the future for toilet installation.
I highly recommend Blue Ridge Handyman Services LLC. They fixed our roof after a bad storm damaged it. I would not hesitate to ask for their services again in the future. They where very concerned about doing a great job, judging by the results that is want they did!
I would recommend this company to anyone that I know. They did an excellent job on the installation of the equipment and the rep (Jason) and other company employees were always courteous and through when talking with me about the job and operation of the equipment. Only thing that I could say that could have been better would have been a better upfront estimate of the time it would take to do the install. My house was a challenge because of the age of the house, so not an easy job to estimate.
Justin was courteous and professional. Installed my attic ladder the very next day and at a very reasonable price- quality of work was great.
Stefan Tinsley did a great job on my utility room. He arrived on time, was very efficient, finished early and the work was done very nicely. (Repaired drywall, removed old dryer hose, painted ceiling.) I will definitely hire him again in the future.
Great service. I contacted Bob when we were having issues with our water heater, he got back to me immediately and scheduled our service within the next day. Dustin came out and found the root of our problem, which wasn't the water heater but was our water pressure. He ordered parts and returned the next day, did a great job with the work and explaining what went wrong. Courteous, efficient, and skilled, they are definitely my go-to resource for electric and plumbing. I also had Bob previously come out and while he was here, he helped me figure out what was wrong with a malfunctioning switch. Very satisfied.
Timely response and quality work in repairing propane furnace/ heat pump system. $700 cheaper than FH Furr, $200 cheaper than Robert B Payne. Do yourself a favor and call these guys.
We needed to have our HVAC blown out because we had a water leak under the house. Kevin also repaired our A/C when the condenser went bad. He has worked on electrical, paint, and has installed appliances.
I have nothing but good things to say about this contractor/friend. I've found that one of the harder tests of friendship is doing business with them. In this case I have no regrets. In the past four years I have bought a home, had to move out of town and rent that home. Adams Home Renovations has helped with: Put up a new fence, installed a door, painted and prepared my rental property between tenants, repaired my eve and roof when I incurred wind damage. I have referred them to family members: For my father - replaced a barn door, put down new flooring on the sun porch, noticed some bad water damage and repaired the gutters and some supports. For my mother - put in a new door after her home got broken into. Went out of their way to get this done in a hurry. Remodeled a bathroom, painted and installed ceiling fans. For my Aunt - Touched up some mortar, put up a facade to hide some computer wires and exposed structural steel, and repaired concrete at the threshold at her garage door. There are several other jobs they have done, and I (and their clients) have been pleasantly by their work. I'll be frank, the people at Adams Home Renovations are friends of mine. I have had problems doing business with other friends in the past. But if I ever had a single problem with the work Adams Home Renovations have done for me, my friends and my family, I wouldn't keep recommending them for any job large or small.
they replaced my water heater. it was done quickly and done well. reasonable price. very satisfied
I'm incredibly fortunate to have found Jimmy. He has an incredibly wide range of skills and has been a 1 stop shop for all my projects. He has done carpentry, skilled painting, tree trimming, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. He's always honest if he doesn't feel like something is in his wheelhouse. If he says he can do something, he'll do it extremely well. His prices are fantastic -- most guys with his skill set charge significantly more than he does. Since I've found him, I've been able to do the critical jobs as well as some jobs that I've been putting off for years. Moreover, he's a decent, caring family man who I trust around my young son and am comfortably leaving a key for him when I'm not at home. Very strongly recommended.
This is the epitome of a good small/local company. Curtis Home Improvements played a difficult role in our multi-faceted home renovation. We hired them to convert a large window to a set of french doors, build a large custom deck, abandon several electric base plate heaters, have granite counter tops installed in our kitchen, install a tile back splash in our kitchen, custom cut our cabinets and installed a wall mounted microwave, installed a dishwasher, and a sink disposal. They did all this while seamlessly allowing other contractors to come in install a new heat pump, pull up carpets and put hardwoods in one room, refinish hardwoods everywhere else, and my family to remove wall paper and paint throughout the house while I built a fence. In the process, we added on a few change orders: removing, repairing and placing new tile for a bathroom floor where we found some wet rot, skim coating areas on the drywall that were messed up from previous renovations or from removing wall paper. They performed this additional work without missing a beat, and at a fair cost. Everything looks great.
I have had Shawn do a tremendous number of jobs over the past few years and all of his work has been excellent. Jobs ranged from fixing floor creaks, replacing hot water heater, repairing carpet, repairing railing on a cement porch and drywall repairs. He even attended a foreclosure inspection and helped me vet/price things the inspector said would need to be done. His work was always done quickly, he cleans up after his jobs, and his prices are fair. The hardest part about hiring someone to work on your home is finding someone you can trust. Once you have Shawn do a single job for you, you will always call him when you need something done. He is also well connected in the area and can refer you to the right person for a job if it is outside of his expertise (or rather that he just trusts someone to do it better for you).
Paulo did a great job . He came on time and did a great job installing my water heater for a very fair price very professional i will recommend him and definitely used again for all my plumbing jobs
Tankless water heater installation and conversion to natural gas. Work was completed on time in a professional manner. Took the time to explain what work would be done and why it was needed. The workmanship and installation were both excellent.
We had a water heater repair. Sheppards heating & air did an excellent job was repaired quickly.
