I am passionate about helping others learn how to dance and reach their highest potential. I believe in and build confidence in all of my students. I know how to assess each client needs and teach according to those individual needs. I am one of the most qualified dance teachers in the area with 30 years of world-class dance training and experience, a B.F.A. in Dance from the Juilliard School and a Masters of Arts in Education. I hired Benjamin to teach my friends and I a dance for my friends upcoming wedding. I was impressed. We all had a great time and he both really knew his stuff and was a great teacher. I would highly recommend him!!

Ben has been an incredible instructor for my daughters. His versatile dance experience and exceptional technique is applicable to almost any form of dance. Ben is adept at recognizing the individual needs of each dancer and has high expectations for his students, creating attainable goals that are also challenging. He treats parents and students with respect and integrity. He provides honest and objective feedback in a constructive manner so that dancers are able to improve their skills without having an adverse effect on their confidence. Ben gives immediate feedback after the lesson. He stays positive with the dancer to take the corrections as a growth opportunity and communicates feedback to the dancer at their age level to help them remember skills. Upbeat personality and great to work with!

Working with Ben has been an extremely positive experience! He is very knowledgeable at his practice. His ability to show the steps as well as explain have been super helpful. Benjamin Stewart is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had and I look forward to learning from him every week. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to first discuss what goals the customer has, then we will set a schedule and a timeline for achieving those goals. I am an expert at teaching and helping anyone of any skill level improve. I am also very available to answer questions, will respond to texts ASAP, I always give homework and set attainable goals that will help the customer improve their skills more than they ever could have imagined.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
30 years of world-class training, dancing and teaching. Received training at the top institutions in the Nation- The Juilliard School, San Francisco Ballet, The Harid Conservatory, Joffrey Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Atlanta Ballet. Nine years dancing with San Francisco Ballet, one of the top companies in the world, performing soloist and principle roles. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the prestigious Juilliard School in New York, I also have a Masters of Arts in Education with an emphasis in instruction and curriculum.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I taught ballet weekly at Larkin Dance Studio, the top competition studio in MN, and Ballet Royale MN, Minnesota’s Premier Ballet Academy. I began giving private dance lessons to students at these studios who were preparing for competitions such as Nuvo, Radix, and Youth America Grand Prix. What began as four private lessons a month has now turned into well over 70 and I am opening up my schedule due to the high demand.
