I am a photographer based in the DMV area (Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland) who primarily focuses on portraits, family, maternity, and events such as birthdays, baptisms, first communions, and more.
In May 2014, I took my first photography course. At that time, I had just learned how to use a professional camera, and my passion for photography was just beginning. Many things have changed since then.
Photography started as a hobby—I was always the one capturing moments, whether it was flowers, trees, landscapes, parties, events, or family gatherings. As a photographer, I feel fortunate to see beauty all around us and to preserve it uniquely.
A few years ago, I lost my dad, and that experience made me realize just how important professional photography is. The photos I have of him allow me to hold onto his memory, to feel connected to him even though he is no longer here. That deepened my understanding of the true value of photography—it’s not just about pictures; it’s about preserving the moments and people we love.
One day, a good friend encouraged me to take my photography hobby to the next level. And here I am, offering you and your family a fun, laid-back experience that results in timeless images you will cherish forever.

Neyda did an amazing job photographing our engagement! She captured so many moments that we didn't even realize were happening until we looked through the gallery. She got all of the important parts of the day, along with the decorations, food, and so many genuine moments with our family and friends.
One thing we really appreciated was that we never had to tell her where to be or what to photograph. She was always in the right place at the right time, and everything felt very natural. It was also a really hot day, but she stayed professional, worked hard the entire time, and never missed a moment.
The photos came out better than we could have hoped for, and we're so grateful to have these memories. If you're looking for someone who's talented, easy to work with, and truly cares about capturing your event, I would highly recommend Neyda!

My second Masters degree was a very big deal. I earned it from my first undergraduate college, the one I dropped out of to start a career building tech startups in garages and friends' apartments. After 40 years on the run, it was a huge life achievement to return to Maryland to receive my diploma. I was only in town for a few hours and I wanted the photos of the occasion to be perfect!
I hired Neyda because of her reviews and because I did not trust my university's "official" photographers to do the moment justice. Neyda showed up on time, took a few dozen beautiful photos in iconic spots, and magically caught "THE ONE" I was looking for.
Of course "magic" had nothing to do with it. Neyda is a professional who knows her trade. She came prepared and with the right equipment and a head full of experience and ideas. She has an eye for what works and she nailed it.
I did end up printing out one of my university's graduation photos to keep around (someplace), but the one you see below is the "OFFICIAL" photo from my graduation weekend. This is the one hanging in my office. I cannot express how thankful I am that Neyda was available for this event. I have worked with hundreds of professional event photographers in my life (I was a wedding DJ in my 20s) and Neyda Torrelles is one of the best.
