Introduction: I’ve been playing piano and singing for over 20 years now, and I love my instruments! I bring expertise and sensitivity to every performance, and I’m always excited to share my varied experience with both children and adults of all levels. Pop/rock, classical, and improvised piano are just some of the styles I’m comfortable teaching and performing. Whatever your goals are for your event or your music education, let’s talk!

Piano Lessons

Kirsten was one of 3 teachers I tried for Julia. My 13 year old daughter's music school auditions went very well and better fairly due to Kirsten's natural good role model, encouraging and skilled past work. Julia took a liking to Kirsten. All the blue tags above are checked truthfully. We'll continue with Kirsten following the auditions. Joe Sporn

Kirsten did a fantastic job performing for our guests during our wedding cocktail hour. She played music that we love on the piano and it was wonderful. We would certainly recommend her to others.

Kirsten has worked with me and my team since 2013 and has always been stellar. A team player and amazing asset to our various programs. I would recommend her for anything in any entertainment, music, or professional setting. And she's a wonderful human!

Kirsten was a joy to have perform at my birthday event. She came up with the perfect playlist, and learned any requests people made on the go from her iPad! She is a truly talented piano player and singer.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

For events: My hourly rate is an estimate and final quotes are determined based on several factors (incl. distance/convenience, equipment, special requests, amount of music and its difficulty, etc...). All events start at $300. We’ll discuss your finalized quote right away so there are no surprises. For lessons: Lessons are in your home and priced to include travel time. Back-to-back lessons (i.e. siblings) will be charged at a lower rate.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

For events: First, we schedule a call to figure out exactly what your needs are. We brainstorm and tailor the experience so that it’s personalized for you! We finalize a quote, and we stay in contact until the day of your event. Then on the day of the event, you’re in good hands! For students/lessons: First, we schedule a discounted trial lesson. We discuss the student’s overall goals and I assess where they’re at during the lesson. Then, I come up with a plan tailored to them depending on the style of music, the student’s level, and their goals. We pick a weekly time for lessons and we dive in!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Shenandoah Conservatory in Musical Theatre with a Piano minor. I began studying voice and piano classically, and branched out later into many different styles, and have continued my training both on and off the job.
