I had Shane and Justin build a custom cabinet/entertainment center around my fireplace with the TV mounted already on top of the fireplace. Let me say this that Shane and Justin did an absolutely awesome job custom building these cabinets and installing them. The cabinets look great and I had asked them to trim the edges of the fireplace mantle to give it that flushed look. The end result looks great! the finished product is awesome. I had requested that they built 42 inch cabinets in the base with glass doors for my entertainment equipment to be place within the cabinets. They were able to custom fit everything when I had asked. I also had requested that they built crown molding around cabinets at the top and base board for the bottom. The crown molding in my house is double crown molding and Shane was able to custom make the second crown molding. I am completely satisfied with Shane and Justin's work and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for carpentry work. The price was great the work was perfect and they were able to get all the tiny details complete and accurate. They are very professional in the work they do and keep the work area clean. In addition, they cleaned everything after themselves and left the work area spotless. Thank you Shane and Justin for the great work!

We hired Shane to add a bedroom in our already finished basement. He won the bid on price, but also because he had really good ideas about how to reconfigure the space, which made it much more useful, and also attractive. He added a built-in shelf to one area, which is really beautiful and enhances the space tremendously. Based on Shane's work in the basement, we hired him to tear a wall out in our dining room, and add a door to another room in order to create a home office. We are planning to continue with more renovations, and intend to hire J&S for everything. They are easy to work with, and communicate clearly about changes of scope, and any issues that come up. We are very happy with the quality of the work as well.

If you’re in need of a reliable, honest and get-it-done general contractor for your home remodeling needs, Al and his crew are the GO TO GUYS! We recently had a rather large basement remodel project where we took an unfinished space (approx.. 900 sq. feet) to a home office/ dental laboratory finish. There were a lot of moving parts involved – all new electrical/ mechanical/ plumbing; installation of egress & small sliding window(s), walk-out door w/ retaining walls and pavement; added bathroom & work/equipment room. Al took the design plans from a paper to presence, and really worked with us to stay on time and on budget. From the initial consultation, he took his time to go over details of the project and provide us with a written proposal on the spot. What was also appreciated was that he used upgraded materials rather than standard builder supplies, which really makes a huge difference in appearance! Al and his guys are meticulous, detailed & very clean – at the end of each work day, the floors were always swept & materials put away. Another consideration for us was trust since my husband & I weren’t home during the day. Admittedly, our house was a mess after moving out! I got a fast response from LD with a quote and had a phone call to go over more in depth what I needed done. She went by the house and called me back with a more detailed list of what she could do. She was always on time to view the house and to do the cleaning. I didn't meet her in person until the job was done but she kept me up to date on her arrival and progress which shows how trust worthy she is! I asked that she let me know when she almost done so I could come do a walk through. This was the first time we'd met face to face. When I say the house was immaculate!!! Here are 10 reasons why I believe that Pompadour DC is the best service in the DC area: 1: The respond time is fast –When I first emailed Mila, the owner of Pompadour DC, she replied to my message with 10 minutes, which is rare when it comes to local businesses. Most companies are not up to date with technology, so they require you to call over the phone during their business hours to schedule an appointment. This was difficult for because during the day, I can’t make phone calls at work, but I can text or email, no problem. Whether it’s via text or email, Mila replies back to my messages super-fast (typically within 30 minutes or less). With other companies, I’m usually waiting 6 hours to 24 hours to hear a response. 2: Mila has a flexible schedule. Before I decided on Pompadour DC, I reached out to 10 different other cleaning companies in my area. I discovered that most companies did not schedule appointments during weekends. Pompadour DC is available anytime (weekends, mornings, afternoons, evening) which is great for me! It’s a rare find. 3: Mila is extremely professional and friendly – across the board. From scheduling to following up after our appointment. Mila does an excellent job on making sure that her service is as expected. 4: She is extremely passionate about what she does. Property management isn’t a job/vocation that most people opt for. However, Mila truly has a knack for this. 5: She brings flowers to every appointment. On top of everything else that Mila does perfectly (customer service, excellent consulting), she brings flowers to top it off. This is icing on the cake. 6: She organized my cabinets in my bathroom and my kitchen. Most companies I’ve hired in the past only work on what’s visible: bedroom, kitchen sink/counters, living room, bathroom tub, sink/counters. But Mila went above and beyond by helping me organize my cabinets. I was so happy with the result. 7: She helped me get rid of clutter. I have an issue with clutter, but Mila helped me figure out what was necessary for me to keep and what I needed to throw away. That was 100% so helpful me …. In fact, that is what convinced me that I had to hire her on a regular basis. 9: Her services are affordable and worth every penny. In addition, she offers real estate, interior design, etc. 10: She is a small business owner/entrepreneur, I make it a point to support local business and I am proud to hire services from her business. Many times, these large companies will hire employees or interns and pay them anywhere between unpaid/volunteer to $10 an hour, which I find disturbing/unfair, especially when I’m paying +$100 for the companies services. I sleep well knowing that my money is going to a good person that doesn’t take advantage of her employees by forcing them to live on minimum wage. Bonus: She takes multiple forms of payment: cash, check, card or Venmo. Many companies only take one form of payment, but because Mila is knowledgeable about technology, she is flexible in terms of payment. Hope this helps! The only thing to be cautious about is cats: Mila is allergic to cats, however, with my cat she was fine most of the time. I want to emphasize that I was not paid or compensated to write this review. I am writing this because I know that Pompadour DC is one of the best services in the DMV and I want people to know about it. Coming back to an organized home from Pompadour DC completely makes make day: As soon as I walked through the door, I see a bouquet of flowers which brightens up my mood immediately. I don’t have to worry about accumulating clutter in my apartment or making sure my apartment is well-organized. Pompadour DC does that for me so that I can focus on my career and spending time with my loved ones. Most importantly, having an organized apartment helps my state of mind – and that’s something that money can’t buy!

I was absolutely blown away by the work that was done by Eliza & Edison, LLC. Amy Lucas was very accommodating and met me at a hotel where I was attending a conference as to minimize my travel time. She showed up on time and had prepared two notebooks, one for me and one for my painter. She had several selections ready in order to discuss colors for the rooms I had been unable to choose and we were able to narrow those down quickly. My painter was equally impressed with the folder she had prepared for him and that made our discussion on room colors much easier. The home had a cold and bland feel. Amy and Brian showed with a huge color selection and helped us pick colors to warm the house, to include all 4 bedrooms, office, family room, and kitchen. I called Donna in May, 2013, to help me with decisions regarding remodeling my kitchen and bathroom, repainting my condominium, and getting new drapes for my living room, dining room and bedroom. Donna did a tremendous amount of research (on line and on foot) to present me with suggestions for all of my needs. She brought numerous samples of drapery and cushion material and paint chips for me to choose from. She worked tirelessly to please me and help me stay within my budget. I am so pleased with all the suggestions Donna made. We went shopping together for frames for some prints and Donna framed the prints and hung them, making a very attractive arrangement above my bed. After the walls were painted, she hung most of my other paintings as well. I first contacted Donna in May of 2013 and the last work was completed in February 2014. However, this is not because of any delay on Donna’s part. The contractor was late starting to remodel my kitchen and didn’t finish until late August. Then I had painting done. I also took time out when I was expecting guests or when I went out of town. Donna is very professional, creative, and hard-working. She not only stands behind her work, but that of contractors she recommends as well (e.g., painter and drapery maker). I recommend her highly.
