About

I’ve been teaching piano in this area for many years and truly enjoy helping students grow at the keyboard. I hold a B.A. from the University of Mary Washington and an M.M. in Piano Pedagogy from George Mason University, and I’m also a member of MTNA. I’m an advanced pianist who teaches a wide range of ages and levels, from beginners to more experienced players. I especially enjoy working with children, but adult students are very welcome as well. Lessons take place on high-quality instruments, including a Yamaha grand and a Steinway grand piano, to support beautiful tone and solid technique. If you’re ready to start or continue your piano journey, I’d be happy to work with you.

Hiroko was the first piano teacher for our daughter who just turned six. I was a little nervous as my daughter can be very shy but Hiroko was wonderful with her and I felt like she got a lot out of just one lesson. She is a wonderful teacher who has a passion for teaching others!

Hiroko is a very patient instructor and made my sons feel very comfortable. She is able to break down the concepts and make it clear for my boys who were 5 and 7. She's a great teacher and the kids have fun.
