What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Cat care and other small animals (not dogs) are $20 per day for once a day visits. Dog feeding and walking only visits start at $20 per visit for one dog. Each additional dog is an extra $5 per visit, and you must be within a 10-15 mile radius of my home in Leesburg. 24/7 Daily + Overnight care for dogs start at $70 per day for one dog. $5 extra for each additional dog or other pet. I'd arrive at your home before you leave and remain there until you return home. If you require long term 24/7 care in your home, please contact me directly for a quote.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm working on becoming both NAPPS and PSI certified. They both have extensive certification programs, and once certified you're required to do continuing education in order to remain that way.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was in Accounting for almost 30 years and just decided that I wanted to do what made me happy instead. So I left the corporate world behind and started spending my days and nights with my furry friends.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I stay in your home and take care of your pets. They get fresh water daily and whenever the bowl gets low. They get fed at their normal times. They have unlimited walks or potty breaks, even if it means that I'm out strolling down the street in my jammies at 3am. If your pet requires any medications, I administer them. This includes injections for diabetes, etc. Kitties get their litter box cleaned daily. I feed fish, bunnies, hamsters, etc for no additional charges.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I was recently caring for 2 dogs during sub zero temps, heavy snow and high winds. A tree up the street knocked down the power lines and we were without power for an entire day. The house got extremely cold, so the doggies and I snuggled up together under multiple blankets and I made sure that they were kept warm. My client ended up returning slightly early due to the weather, but by then the power was back on.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Hire someone that makes pets their life and not just a job. Your pets will receive more love and attention that way.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I'm a middle aged lady that's been married for 23 years. I've got two children aged 21 and 30. I'm a very quiet, responsible person and my family and my pets are my world. I'm very active in animal rescue, canine cancer advocacy, the spay/neuter and adopt don't shop movements, as well as spending considerable amounts of time searching for lost pets and reuniting ones that have been found with their families.
