Introduction: Precision Canine was founded in 2023 and is a locally owned and operated dog training facility based out of Lynchburg, VA. The key focus of the business is helping dogs be exceptional pets for their owners. Precision Canine takes a balanced training approach focusing on reward-based training and goal directed behavior with positive reinforcement. The owner and lead trainer, Andrew Kasecamp, has extensive knowledge in the canine world with over a decade of canine experience. Starting his career in Law Enforcement as a K-9 handler, Andrew love for handling and training dogs started. Once he left law enforcement, Andrew moved to the private sector working as the Director of Training and Education and Lead Trainer for a private security company. During this time, he worked with some of the biggest K-9 companies in the country to include GardaWorld Federal, Global K-9 Protection Group, and Constellis. Andrew has also completed canine training for the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, Virginia State Police, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, and many more local agencies. Andrew possesses a Master of Science Degree in Canine Behavior and is certified as a canine trainer through the International Association of Directors for Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADELST), State of Virginia (DCJS), American Society of Canine Trainers (ASCT), American K-9 Interdiction (AK9I), and American Kennel Club (AKC CGC Evaluator). Andrew has worked with some of the biggest K-9 Companies in the country and now it's time to put him to work for you.

I truly can not say enough about Andrew at Precision Canine Lynchburg. He took in Max for a two week board and train with his separation anxiety and fear based reactivity to dogs and people where most will only do private lessons for those types of behavior issues. Max also had the usual pulling on a leash and destructive behavior at home amongst a few other things. He took the time and effort to get Max to where he can now go in public without reacting to people and dogs and is so much better overall with his walking and not nearly as destructive at home. Max was his second toughest dog to train so far but the time, work and dedication that he put in was beyond expectation. I now have a dog that has the foundation for me to continue building on that will allow us both to have lots of great adventures together and go places without worries of Max being reactive. Outstanding training service. Precision Canine worked with my male 6-month-old German Shepherd puppy for two weeks. When Andrew brought the dog back to me, the dog was an entirely different animal. His obedience was solid, he walks well on and off leash in the presence of distractions without any issues. He responds to verbal commands perfectly now. I would highly recommend this service to anyone needing help with their dog.

We sent Bones to 2 week Board & Train with worry because he is my best friend. Andrew prove he was the man for the job. Andrew is professional, ethical, a hard worker, knows how to train dogs and clearly loves dogs. Bones is more confident, relaxed, and responds to all his commands. Andrew kept us up to date with videos and it was awesome watching Bones progress. I would not send him anywhere else for training now that we know Andrew. Highly recommend Precision Canine for all your training needs!

We were having major issues with our 1and half year old Dutch/Mal Shepherd Diesel. Could not take him anywhere and could not even go on vacation because nobody else could watch him. I had to take Diesel to get his nails trimmed at the vet because he had to be sedated due to his aggressiveness. ($130.00 monthly). Could not have family over because he would go crazy in his crate the whole time they were here. Andrew was highly recommended to me from a police k-9 friend who had worked with Andrew training police dogs. After contact, Andrew traveled 3 hours to evaluate Diesel. We met at Lowes, Andrew approached my vehicle and Diesel went nuts. I muzzled and leashed Diesel and Andrew took him. After spending a few minutes Andrew walked Diesel right into the store,(that really took me by surprise). Next, to my amazement Andrew exited lowes with Diesel and Diesel was not muzzled. I thought for sure Diesel would have bit him or somebody. At that point I knew Precision Canine was my chance for Diesel. Andrew then came to the house to evaluate. I brought Diesel in muzzled and Andrew came in and Diesel started growling and punching Andrew with the muzzle. We set up a pickup date for Diesel a 2 week board and train. Andrew returned a couple weeks later and went over a questionnaire with my wife and I. He asked if there was anything else we would like him to work on other than basic obedience. My wife said she would like to be able to walk Diesel and I said I would like to walk him on my mobility scooter and not have to pay $130 monthly to get his nails done. We both wanted to have family over without Diesel going nuts. Andrew then departed with Diesel for his training. During the 2 weeks we received nightly videos showing Diesels progress, which we greatly appreciated because we missed him like one of our kids. We were amazed to see Andrew walking Diesel on a mobility scooter inside public stores, (sometimes without holding the leash). He also taught Diesel to use a scratch box to trim his nails. Videos showed Diesel interacting with Andrew's family and dogs in his house. After 2 weeks Diesel returned home. I can now walk him on my scooter and my wife takes him for walks. He uses his scratch box and I don't have to take him to get his nails done. We can have family over and Diesel can stay out of his crate (muzzled), and will lay down without aggression. Before this training we were unable to go on vacation for over a year because nobody could watch Diesel. Andrew offered to board Diesel now so we can go on vacation! I can't say enough about Andrew and his amazing knowledge of dog behavior. He did an amazing job with Diesel and I couldn't be more impressed. I would have said what he did was impossible to do, but he did it. THANK YOU ANDREW AND PRECISION CANINE!!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

Thumbtack only lets me chose 3 options about what I liked when it came to working with Andrew. if I could put all 5 I absolutely would. He took our timid German Shepherd and turned her around. More importantly he is an amazing teacher who took the time to walk me through step by step on why he does what he does so that I can continue the reinforcement training at home. I cannot recommend him enough to anyone on the fence. He is affordable, personable, responsible, and an amazing teacher!

Step one is to arrange a free consultation. Precision Canine Lynchburg will meet you and your dog and discuss any behavior problems and set goals. Once agreed and paperwork completed, we set a start date.
