- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
What to Expect at your first appointment or class/workshop You can book an appointment for a private lesson by using our "Book Today" tab or by e-mailing or texting me. If booking through e-mail or text: After we find a time that works for your schedule, we will add your appointment to our calendar, send an invoice and an intake form, and send a reminder of your appointment the day before, as well as an e-mail detailing what to expect for your appointment. If booking online: Your appointment will automatically be added to our calendar, and we will send an intake form to be filled out at least 48 hours in advance of your appointment. We will send an e-mail reminder of your appointment the day before detailing what to expect for your appointment. If you sign up for a group manners workshop, we ask that you leave any shock or prong collars at home, as well as leash corrections. We recommend front clip harnesses (like the 3 in 1 Harness from Petsafe or the Freedom Harness from 2 Hounds Design), but will allow flat and martingale collars. Each class or workshop will have a class description detailing what you will need to bring and what to expect upon arrival to class.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My goal is to help you and your dog achieve the best possible outcomes through Positive Reinforcement Dog Training and Behavior Modification. I am a CPDT-KA® (Certified Professional Dog Trainer) with the CCPDT (Council of Certified Professional Dog Trainers) and I am a supporting member of IAABC (International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants). I chose these organizations because they are Science-Based, Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) organizations with specific guidelines for trainers to follow, and they are organizations that push for regulations in the Dog Training Industry.
