Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. We take away old furniture, appliances, miscellaneous household junk, patio furniture, lawnmowers, yard debris, construction and demolition debris, old tires, and almost anything else! We also will do light demolition and tear down sheds, play structures and fences, and we also tear out carpeting.
We can do whole-house cleanouts or just take away a single item, like a treadmill, washing machine, recliner or sofa.
Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.
A. We removed 9 tons of books from a law firm's library. We performed a whole-house cleanout from an estate, where the people had lived in the house for over 40 years and had thrown away almost nothing in that entire time. We also recently picked up a small amount of trash and junk from a family who are preparing to sell their house and move to another state. We can do all this and more!
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Make sure you're comparing apples to apples. If another junk hauler gives you a price for a "full truck," make sure you know how much that is, and whether they'll work to make sure the truck really and truly is FULL. Our truck will hold 18 cubic yards of stuff - up to about 3 tons! Our major competitors use a 15 cubic yard truck, so we haul 20% more stuff per truckload. And we always work to pack as much stuff as we can in all the corners. We'll even break down old junk furniture to save space on the truck, so you get the most junk hauled for your dollar!
Also - make sure whoever you use is fully insured with liability and workman's compensation, to protect your own liability, and also ask if they have a criminal liability bond. Junk King is fully insured and bonded.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. You don't have to drag your junk out to the curb, or even out of the house. We do ALL the work - we will climb up into your attic, under your house, out in the weeds in the back yard - wherever the junk is that you need gone.
And we recycle or donate on average 60% or more of everything we take away.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. What kind of truck do they use and how much does it hold? Where do they take the items and materials? Are they properly insured, licensed and bonded? Do they recycle? How quickly can they come do the job, and how long will it take? Junk King usually can provide next-day or even same-day service, and we work FAST.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. Know exactly what you want to get rid of and when you want the job done.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. We communicate with our customers so they know what to expect. We show up when we say we will, and let them know if we're running late. We perform all of our work quickly, politely and professionally, with respect for the customer and their property, and we sweep up when we're done.
We also recycle, repurpose and donate as much as we can, rather than just dumping everything in a landfill.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. "What do you do with all the stuff? Do you just dump it all?"
We recycle as much as we can. All metal items are recycled as scrap metal. Large quantities of cardboard (e.g., moving boxes) get recycled into newsprint. Computers, appliances, wires, and miscellaneous electronics all get recycled. Old clothing, as long as it is wearable, is collected and picked up by a company that sends it over to Africa. Appliances, building materials and furniture that are usable are repurposed and often donated to Habitat for Humanity or other similar organizations.
