FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I not always the least expensive provider but bring experience, maturity and follow-through to all my work
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. Determine scope of work - Clearly define what is to be accomplished including any special materials needed as appropriate. If work is anything beyond 'cut and dry' then additional work may be required (and approved). An example would be opening a wall where previously unknown rotten wood is discovered (and should be replaced). The homeowner would be consulted and additional work (and additional cost) would be approved. 2. Authorize work once scope of work and cost approved - For large jobs (eg. several days or more), then it's customary to pay 30% down (for materials), another 30% at a defined project milestone and a final 40% payment upon successful work completion. For small jobs, full payment is tendered upon successful job completion (an exception may be paying for a large material cost up front if more than 25% of the total cost of job). 3. Arrange for jobsite access - ensure provider has access to inside and/or secured areas during normal work hours. 4. Ask questions and/or bring any perceived work quality issues to the provider as soon as practicable.
