About
I've been a Class A Contractor since 2003 and have done everything from installing a light bulb to building a house. I mostly work alone now and don't do the huge jobs but instead focus on doing the small ones correctly even if it takes a little more time.

I have nothing but good things to say about Barry. In fact, as soon as he was finished rehabbing a house for us, we immediately booked him for another job. We never had to guess what was finished and what still needed to be done because he sent us an end of the week status report. Being out of town this gave us a lot of confidence. His costs are fair and the work was great.

Barry was a pleasure to work with and did a fantastic job! I had a few fence posts that snapped and he replaced them quickly and made sure to add a lot of concrete to enforce them. He also took the time to teach us how to inspect them and look for signs of when they need to be replaced! I will call him for any suture projects we have.

Barry completed a complicated tile backsplash for me in just 2 days and did an outstanding job! From start to finish working with Barry was a positive experience. He is very conscientious and has an eye for detail. He settles for nothing less than perfection. I will definitely have future work done by Great Pyramid Construction. I would recommend GPC for any of your home project needs. Deb in Newport News, VA.
Details: Kitchen • Backsplash • 25 - 50 sq ft • Ceramic • No, but I will buy the tiles myself

The owner, Barry Mason, is prompt and reasonable. He does quality work and he is able to tackle difficult repair problems. He recently repaired a variety of issues needed to put our home on the market in tip top condition. Barry stands behind his work. He is a quality contractor!

Thanks so much Brenda!
FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I not always the least expensive provider but bring experience, maturity and follow-through to all my work
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. Determine scope of work - Clearly define what is to be accomplished including any special materials needed as appropriate. If work is anything beyond 'cut and dry' then additional work may be required (and approved). An example would be opening a wall where previously unknown rotten wood is discovered (and should be replaced). The homeowner would be consulted and additional work (and additional cost) would be approved.
2. Authorize work once scope of work and cost approved - For large jobs (eg. several days or more), then it's customary to pay 30% down (for materials), another 30% at a defined project milestone and a final 40% payment upon successful work completion. For small jobs, full payment is tendered upon successful job completion (an exception may be paying for a large material cost up front if more than 25% of the total cost of job).
3. Arrange for jobsite access - ensure provider has access to inside and/or secured areas during normal work hours.
4. Ask questions and/or bring any perceived work quality issues to the provider as soon as practicable.
