FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to meet my clients in person before their event. This gives everyone a chance to become aquatinted before the big day! In person meetings help me to get a true feel for what type of event that you're dreaming of! I believe that the planning process should be fun! We can meet for coffee, lunch, a glass of wine, whatever you'd like! I enjoy meeting with my clients and talking about all the important details! I offer this as a complementary service!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In my time as a special events DJ I have achieved many impressive accomplishments! I have received 2 Best of the Year awards from Thumbtack. They are awarded for consecutive 5 star ratings for my work as an MC. I have gained a position as a preferred DJ/MC for the high end special event venue, The First Lady of Suffolk. I have experience with a multitude of different event types. Weddings, city organized events, corporate parties, military events, children's parties and entertainment, and public school functions just to name a few. I specialize in weddings. I have worked with countless couples all over the Hampton Roads and surrounding areas! I have a vast knowledge of weddings as I am also Certified Professional Wedding Planner.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The best advice that I can give to a person looking for a special event DJ/MC is to know that there are many different types of DJ. A Special event DJ should be knowledgeable about all genres of music, have a professional yet entertaining presence on the microphone, knowledge of equipment, be well dressed and well spoken, and have excellent customer service skills. She/He should have experience with your type of event. Be wary of hiring a DJ that may come unprepared, unprofessionally dressed, play music with explicit content, refuse to make any announcements, and in some cases have inappropriate interaction with your guests. Yes their rates in some cases are lower than a professional special event DJ but it certainly comes with a price!
