- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Not complicated at all: Weddings: first 3 hours is $395.00 and $45.00 each additional hour. Parties: $250.00 for the first 3 hours, $45.00 each additional hour
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a teacher, I played music in my class room in the morning for my students before class began. My son-in-law is Dominican and keeps me informed as to the hits in Latin Music. Also, I am a broadcasting DJ that plays Carolina Beach Music and Doo Wop on www.oldiesplus.net as DJ Richie G.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had collected vinyl records since I was ten. I have over 12,000 45's and 5,000 albums. I was playing keyboards in a rock band. I developed kidney cancer and lost a kidney. When I returned to health the band was split up. The drummer and I owned most of the PA equipment. We were going to sell the speakers and mixer and the drummer came to my home to discuss the prices. When he saw my vinyl collection in book cases that lined the room. He said "we aren't selling these things. I'll get us a job as DJ's for this weekend"... and he did! That first job was for free, but we signed a six months contract with that establishment that night, and also booked a wedding gig and a private party as well.
