FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
On my website many of my services listed have an asteriks * instead of a price. This is because I adjust my pricing to best fit the budget of each client. I want to work with as many people as possible and don't want any to shy away from asking for a quote or booking with me because they feel I'm out of their price range.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always had an interest in makeup since I was a little girl. I loved how makeup could completely transform the way someone looked. I stated reading and studying books from the top industry professionals religoiusly. At the start of the bloom of social media I watched makeup artists and beauty gurus online and learned techniques and practiecd on myself and friends. I saught work in makeup and got my first cosmetic job working at a mineral makeup kiosk at my local mall. Displeased with the bait and scam approach they had and wanting more of an artistry focus. I began to work at a major cosmetic retailer as a receiver and worked my way up to a consultant. From there I have built my skills and am making the move into freelance makeup artistry to broadly make my services available to the people of the Hampton Roads area.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common job requests I get are for brides looking for a flawless look for their wedding day. Sometimes including their bridesmaids and the brides mother. I also get many requests for teen girls in high school looking for a beautiful look for their high school prom or ring dance. I also have the occasional birthday girl wanting an unforgettable look for her night out on the town as well.
