I, along with my girlfriend, rented with coastal for 4 years across two properties. Overall, my experience with the group was very positive and I can recommend them to prospective renters.Because the property was very old, we had a number of repair needs over the course of our stay. Most of these were handled very quickly and to our satisfaction. There was even an occasion where Coastal put us up in a hotel due to some of the repairs leaving the property without power for a few days.I will say that there were times where things were not responded to as quickly as I would have liked nor with the professionalism that i expected. This was primarily in the beginning of our residency and the communication did improve in time as did the quality of repairs once a new maintenance team was on board. We were both on good speaking terms with our property managers and always felt like we could call or message them when we needed something. We worked primarily with Nancy and Macon during these years. My only suggestion to any prospective renters is one i would give no matter what agency you rented from: be very diligent with your cleaning and repairs, and keep records/paper trails on everything. It really does help everyone involved.Overall, it was a positive experience and I am happy to have worked with them.

I would give this place more stars if I could. I am getting stationed in the area for the military and my husband and I were looking for an apartment. We searched the first day and found something that wasnt too bad but not what we were looking for. We came here on the second day and we didnt have an appointment or anything like that. We just showed up from the street and ended up signing our lease the same day. We filled out our applications in the building and they squeezed us into their schedule so we could have a viewing of the apartments we were interested in. We went back to the office about 2 hours later and did all the paperwork for the apartment, put down our security deposit, and signed the papers. The staff couldnt have been more helpful.

Worst Property Manager/Realtor to rent from! If youre looking to rent a property from this HORRIBLE management read this first! You have been WARNED!We are currently residing at the property on AYLESBURY DRIVE and believe me we cant wait to move at the end of this month! At first we were pleased with the staff and how nice and very responsive to calls and concerns there were, then this year when we decided to move, we finally saw their true colors!First let me tell you that you will need to have terminix come and spray the house bc this home has a lot ROACHES that come in every winter and we had to find out the hard way and even though we had mentioned it to Coastal Group about it, they exclaimed that its normal to have a few roaches I was shocked. Then we had to deal with the SQUIRRELS That would come into the attic and NEST up there! If it werent for the horrible foul smell we wouldve never known there was a dead squirrel up there! Again Coastal Group didnt care and said we will send some one out soon mind you this smell was horrible and it was stinking up the whole house.Next let me tell you about the Condo Association rules that they failed to tell us about! We were told when we moved in that we had the garage and 2 parking spaces in the drive way and guest parking at the end. Well we took a trip in January for 2 weeks and Park our other car in guest parking and when we came back our car was gone! We were furious and asked the president of the condo association why our car was towed and he stated that guest parking is only good for 24 HOURS and he went on telling me all these rules that Coastal Group NEVER told us about! I called the tow company and we had to pay $457 to get our car out. I called Coastal Group and explained to them how they failed to inform us of the rules and even told us that we can park in guest parking if we ever needed an extra spot. Of course Ben and Macon said sorry but theyre not gonna help pay for it, not even half! I couldnt believe how these guys just didnt care at all, especially when its their responsibility to let us know of any condo association rules.Anyways we had to just pay it and move on and couldnt wait to move out at the end of March! These guys here will do whatever they can to TAKE YOUR MONEY and make you sign and lease and once you are locked in they wont give a Damn!Dont waste your time with these guys, there are better homes and better property managers out there, we gladly found one .
Coastal Group Inc Realtors's reply
In the beginning this tenant's family appreciated the fresh paint job, new flooring and other improvements which were made to this property. They also expressed appreciation for the prompt response to maintenance requests. However the property was not well cared for, and the carpet and house-cleaning upon his family's move-out required more than normal effort to get it ready. It is unfortunate that this tenant rated things for which Coastal Group Inc cannot prevent. Housekeeping issues after their family's Spring-time move-in which resulted in roaches. According to his review, it was not until 6 or 7 months later, (the following winter) that the roaches appeared. They were promptly treated. Separately, invasive, nesting squirrels were particularly active throughout Tidewater this past winter. When the problem was identified, it was acted on promptly. The Pest company made multiple visits to resolve the problem. And then the repair contractor went behind to repair the damaged wood fascia. The condo rules are the tenants responsibility. It's never a good idea to ignore notices from the association manager posted on the windshield . Parking the extra vehicle in the guest visitor's parking spaces for long terms is not tolerated in any communities. The tenant's vehicle was previously towed from the well-marked "fire lane" near his house. He asked to be reimbursed for the tow costs. Why would the property owner, in this case, an out-of-state single mom taking care of her elderly mother, be responsible for his vehicle being towed? ... not realistic. The real complaint is not what is written, but that his new residence was delayed and would be unavailable for 5 days. He was not able to vacate when agreed and scheduled. Coastal Group did not force his family to move out on schedule to move to a motel. Although it was disruptive to the schedule, his family was permitted to roll into the next month and pay half a month (not the entire month as the lease agreement required.) The clean-up after his departure took longer than expected, so the property owner was put at a significant disadvantage. It's the owner who should be complaining.....about his behavior toward her property. Coastal Group Inc and all its team members work diligently to make the renting experience enjoyable for our renters. It is our company mission to represent our many property owners well, to maintain their valuable properties, and to treat everyone equally with care and consideration.
