FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It can be complex, the majority of times it serves me to see the piece, damages, type of finish on the piece, degree of detail work to piece ie: carving, moldings, size, etc. i usually like to spend some time with the client discussing finish color, sheen and special attention facets as well as seeing the area the piece or pieces will be living so as to help client create a better illusion as to what i see in their treasures and advise.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My Mother was a huge inspiration in that we used to run around to all the Antique stores and i was taken in by all the styles and wood grains and such that it prompted me start buying pieces of my own and refinishing the ones that needed it and i found it was a skill set that i had a knack for and just stuck with it thus landing a posistion with a fine furniture company and had the opportunity to work through every department that pertained to building a higher skill set and ending with managing the companies restoration department .
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish clients would know just what it takes to get their piece to the results of what they see when it is returned to them !
