Chris is highly reliable and has an innate understanding of dogs. She is adaptable, pleasant and unflappable. One of our dogs requires special feeding care, and she is diligent about doing so, and often anticipates additional needs. We rely on her as a key link in caring for three dogs (often at the same time!). She is flexible and professional, and our dogs love to see her.

Chris has been taking care of our Lucy for over a year. She is so kind and we all love her. She is willing to take care of an ill dog on occasion and has done so for us. Chris keeps us posted on any difficulties that may arise and We hope she will be with us as long as Lucy is a part of our family.

Chris has been taking care of my old Lab mix dog Dozer (13 now!) for 3 or 4 years when I leave town or need to be gone too long. She stays at my house overnight when I am gone. She understands my long detailed instructions and calls if she needs any clarifications. She is mature and has good judgement about how to deal with unusual situations that come up while staying at my house. I trust her completely. Also Dozer loves her.

Chris is an excellent dog minder and walker. She has looked after my Shih Tzu on many occasions over the years. My dog loves her, she cares for his every need, food, exercise, medicine and most of all love, as well as taking care of my home when I'm away. I highly recommend her as a pet sitter, walker, and home care person. I always feel relaxed knowing my dog is well cared for and my home is looked after as well.

Chris was very reliable and spent lots of good quality time with my kitty. I didn't have to worry at all while I was away.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

When I was 14, I took a summer job at a breeding kennel, cleaning the kennels and feeding and playing with the dogs. I took it upon myself to train a 1 year old Lab who hadn't had much human contact. It took patience and persistence, but we developed a mutual trust, and by the end of the summer, he was calm and playful with me. It was an experience that changed my life by showing me the joy a relationship with even one dog can bring. I found that I am able to share that joy with pets on a professional level. It's incredible to be able to recreate this joy daily through a "job."

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Most commonly I feed pets, walk dogs, play with cats, clean litter boxes. I also occasionally dispense medications.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Check references, meet with the provider before the event to make sure everyone gets along.
