FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    My rates are as follows: 30 minute lesson/ $20 45 minute lesson/$30 1 hour lesson/ $35

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

At a student’s first lesson, they get to have a lesson with a “satisfaction guarantee”. If a student is satisfied with their first lesson and would like to continue with weekly lessons, they would sign the Music contract which states that they will pay for a month’s worth of lessons in advance. I do this because it guarantees each student with their desired weekly lesson slot. If a student isn’t satisfied with their first lesson they then have the freedom to not give any payment for the lesson and do not sign the music contract.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been playing piano for 24 years. Fifteen of those years I had formal piano training in many styles of music (classical, jazz, pop and rock). In all my 4 years of high school, I was a member of our jazz club and performed regularly with the club which strengthened my improvisation skills. From the age of 12-20 years old I was the accompaniest for 3 churches (worship service, choirs and folk groups). I attended 4 summer workshops at Concordia College to strengthen my organ skills while working for the churches as well. After graduating high school, I attended University of Montana and took classes in music theory, music composition, piano performance and recording technology. Along with piano, I started my formal training in alto saxophone from the age of 8-24 years old. I have been in many ensembles ranging from high school symphonic band, jazz club, and college symphonic band. The styles of music I have been trained in are classical, contemporary, jazz and pop. I have been playing guitar for 20 years. My parents bought me my first classical guitar when I was 8 years old. I started lessons that same year and have been playing all styles of guitar ever since! I have been in many bands therefore improving my rhythm/improvisation skills. I recently picked up the ukulele about 1 year ago and fell in love instantly! It is such an easy instrument to learn and play. I do think I learned it so quickly because of the other instruments I play but it really is a great first instrument for people.
