Olivia's Lessons' Studio

I'm very skilled in the piano, as I was self taught at the age of 3, and started receiving private instruction at the age of 5. Since then, I've become well-trained in theory, technique, and various styles of music. I'm very good with younger children, teenagers, and even adults. I shape my instruction to the style that the student learns, whether that be by ear, by demonstration, or "by the book." It's important to me that the student is learning and enjoying what they're playing. For cello, I started learning at the age of 13. The same year that I picked up the cello, I qualified for my school districts Honor Orchestra. I again qualified for the Soundview Honor orchestra both my junior and senior year of high school. I was able to play in many different gigs with my high school's quintet, even playing for the Washington State art show. I was able to play with the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra at the IKEA PAC, and at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. I currently play cello for WWU's campus ministry The INN. I believe that it's an important part of everyone's lives, whether it be through a musical instrument, or music itself. I'm very comfortable working with both children and adults. I'm also very comfortable with working with students that have learning disabilities; A handful of my students have a learning disability, and they're the most fun students I've ever had!
