FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I work out pricing on a case-by-case basis. A 500 page manuscript will be approached differently than a two page letter to the landlord. Sometimes an hourly rate is more appropriate; sometimes a set fee. This will be worked out and agreed upon in writing before work begins.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you are writing fiction, your reader/editor should be someone who is straightforward. You need detailed advice; ego stroking will feel good, but it won't get you very far.
